Hi Well was silly enough to forget to go to the immigration 14 days before the end of 30 day visa, so now have the hassle of either flying out or a visa run. Usually do the month in month out for work but have stayed home longer this time, does any body have recent experience regards to visa runs from hua hin ? was going to go to Kanchanaburi but i hear its closed without a burmese visa. apparently there is another point near hua hin ? any advise would be great. thanks

You can get the extension on the last allowed stay day, or even few days after paying overstay fine.

You can now do a 30 day extension of your 30 day visa exempt entry at immigration (new rules). The fee is 1900 baht.

Since you mentioned 14 days I assume you have done a conversion to a 90 day non migrant visa before that truly requires 15 days reaming on your entry to do.

Your only options now to do a border run from Hua HIn is Mai Sot or Cambodia unless you get a visa for Myanmar for the closer ones. Ranong is not even an option at the moment because they will not let you cross to get another exempt entry.

I only need 7 day extension, not 30, how much is that?

Or I will have a two day overstay.

All and any extension are the same price: 1,900 Baht. So Baht for Baht, overstay is cheaper.

heres the thing ! i have a 30 day valid till 23 sept, and want to extend but in the past the Nakhon Pathom office has wanted the 14 days early or no extention , would i be right in thinking that has now changed with new rules and able to apply for 30 day extention until the last day? the nakhon office seems to have their own set of rules :) and thanks for all the advise

There is certainly no written rule that says you need 14 days remaining on your entry to get any extension.

I don't know where that immigration office came up with that nonsense requirement. How could they expect a person to know that they needed an extension if they had a change of plans. I have never heard of any office wanting 14 days remaining.

So here is the outcome of the visa extention.Went this morning to nakhon pathom ( and yes for some strange reason they do DEMAND that you report 15 days b4 your visa runs out if you want a 90 day extention )

So i only wanted a 30 day extention, had 7 days left but wanted to ask them to their face what the go was just to give me enough time to fly out 4b the visa expired if that was needed.

They offered to give me 30 days, then if i came in 15 days b4 that finished would give me another 60 days 1900 baht each stamp. thing was that if i took 60 days i would have to leave thailand after that and could not get a further 30 days. yes that is what they offered, was no trouble with undeerstanding as my wife was doing most of the talking ( she is good at that :) )

So now have an extra 30 days on top of what i had this morning all good !

Well thats the outcome of that, i dont know if this will be of any help to others as the office in nakhom pathom seem to have some ideas of their own but that is that .

And thankyou to all for the comments. helpfull

I could possibly understand them wanting 15 days before to do long extensions but not a 7 day or 30 day extension.

The 60 days they mentioned was to visit your Thai wife. But it seems they invoked their 15 day rule for getting that one.
