Susanmarie77 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I use an aluminum cart I bought a Home Pro for carrying groceries but also to help me balance when I am walking and stepping up onto sidewalks. because it is light and the handle is on the side with the wheels, it rolls when I use it to balance. I am looking for a shop in Chiang Mai that could either put a parking brake on it to lock the wheels, or attach a second handle to the side without wheels. I need a place where I can explain what I need, and that I can find. I appreciate any ideas.
pgrahmm Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 How about a bike shop...maybe bigger wheels with a brake.... my Mom had a 3 wheeled walker with a brake....probably extended her activities 5-8 years.....the brake was a great steadier....but bigger tires might solve your concern
pgrahmm Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Possibly a solid axle with bicycle tires.....or live axle with disc type cable brake off the axle....the larger diameter tires the better balance wider stance like a golf bag cart....
Susanmarie77 Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry I have no idea how to post photo. I have thought of 3 wheel walker but can't find one in Chiang Mai. Also thought of a bike shop. Do you know of any where they might speak some English?
pgrahmm Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 There is a Trek shop one 108 past Kad Farang in Hang Dong....not a city dweller but know there are bike shops in CM... Jackie bike?
pgrahmm Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I might have seem a 3 wheeler at the pharmacy in Tesco Lotus on 108....by thr left entrance door....but unsure since was not looking for one....
malt25 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Chaitawat In the city center, on Ratchapakinai Road, nr. 75/4, opposite the Bodhi Serene Hotel. A Thai-Chinese owned shop and one of the first. They have been in business many years and have become technically proficient in recent times. Telephone 053 279 890 or 081 626 2590. Dealer Probike (Trek) and CycleSport (Merida). I've used this shop several times & find them great to deal with. They speak pretty good English. Hope this is of some help. Mal.
