"After 44 minutes, anyone who had suggested that Manchester City were about to suffer their worst defeat for seven years and five months, would have attracted some strange sideways glances...made this the heaviest defeat since the 8-1 reverse at Middlesbrough in 2008..." (the 8v1; wasn't that the players unofficial protest to Thaksin for sacking Eriksson).

Aint that the truth....I thought we'd done well to limit it to 1-0 at that point.

The rest is history...:)

Still no mention of the De Bryne goal being offside biggrin.png

We can all show a picture that doesn't prove anything biggrin.png

Alfie, the picture I presented clearly shows the line they were both on from a much better angle. Your piccie there even has a Spurs player blocking the crucial leg that was playing KDB on side.

However, if it makes you happy. Here you go. not 1 but 2 city players off side.

bj, don't keep on, anyway can a mod suspend himself for being so boring ? the truth is that it is nearly impossible to tell from a photo unless the photgrapher is dead in line and the pic is taken the moment the boot makes contact with the ball which neither the above photo's show.

Anyway if Bredbury ses it was offside then thats good enough for me biggrin.png

The sour grapes thread!

I do believe offside is offside be it an inch or a yard.

Fact is the youngest team in the league beat the most expensive team in the league.

Very good. Everybody was impressed by Spurs performance. Move on.

Don't be too hasty BB.....we are still grinning over here. biggrin.png

Blimey Alfie. It was you who insisted that City fans responded to you regarding the KdB goal. I responded, provided pictures and because it didn't suit your view, now I'm boring. Unbelievable.

MEN reporting "Silva, Zabaleta and Toure all involved in the open training session this morning at the CFA. No Kompany or Mangala, though".

Can one of you boys with BeinSports post the link the where I can find which game is on which of their channels. Cheers.

Looks like Truevisions here are showing the City game on Truesport 3 [ch668], but the main featured game (i.e. the one with the studio pundits) will once again be the ManU game on Bein Sport [ch676].

English giants Manchester City have beaten rivals Liverpool and Everton to the signature of the highly-rated talent Taione Sodje. The 12-year-old, who has a Nigerian father, Bright, was snapped up from the Sheffield United academy and has an academy contract that will keep him at the Etihad until he is 15.Taione comes from a family with a huge football tradition. His uncles Efe and Sam have represented Nigeria at senior level, while Akpo is a striker with a big reputation in the lower tiers of English football.Bright said the decision to play for City was purely Taiones, adding that the additional option of going to school gave City the edge over the Reds and Toffees. The deal was just before Taiones 12th birthday on September 20.

The three clubs were interested and I had discussions with my wife and son. He said he was opting for City because of their £200m academy, quality coaching and the chance to get quality education while at the club, Bright told our correspondent on the telephone on Monday.City said if we (family) decide to relocate to Manchester, they would put him in a private school. Everton and Liverpool werent offering that in terms of education.

The former rugby player added that Taione has a chance to seal a professional deal with the 2013/14 Premier League champions in the near future.Taiones got five years to prove himself; that he is good enough to play for City at scholarship level. His present deal is an academy contract. When he turns 15, he will be given a scholarship, which takes him till he is 17.

The brilliant academy facilities and schooling are going to be a major factor over our rivalsin building our future teams. I'm sure it will prove to be a great investment by the Sheikh.

My old school thumbsup.gif

Used to be one of the top Catholic Grammar schools in the North West.

Stones throw away from Maine Road.

We, Marple Hall Grammar, used to play your lot at football (and rugby I assume). Sure I played there one Saturday morning.

Your right.

In mid 70s, Bedes was more of a rugby school, though we had decent football teams too.

Excellent facilities even then, with Brantingham Road having several football and rugby fields and a cricket pitch right in the middle! Brings back happy memories!smile.png

I would have played there between 70 to 75. We probably kicked lumps out of each other. Just thinking about school football, we played Cheadle featuring Andy Ritchie on one of those freezing windy rainy days where if you get hit with the ball you wished you were dead instead of stinging/hurting; we got absolutely hammered, the worst footballing day of my school career and all you got at the end of it was a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits. Those were the days eh!
