Tyre / Tire Recomendations 2014

Featured Replies

Time for some new boots for the truck. I need two things in order of priority.

1. Wet weather on road grip.

2. An All terrain Tyre for occasional 4x4 work.

Which tyres would you guys recommend as the best of the above two factors, preferably available in Phuket or close by.

I know there's been several threads before, but opinion, options and availability changes with time, whats do you forum members recommend at the moment?

I went with Geolanders fro Yokohama - made in Thailand so don't have the tariff on them that other tires do...I got the "road" looking tread design although it's an All Terrain rated tire.....

Came from Pai to CM today in the rain and seemed to hold well (suv though not a truck)

Prior to this it's always been Michelin for me......

Found Bridgestone to be too squirrely in the wet weather for me.....but OK 4x4 wise......

The Michelins did well offroad too even the doubters in the 4x4x group were surprised but those of us that chose and used Michelins were not surprised and kind of knowingly grinning.....

Love my Yokohama geolanders ---Malcolm

BFGoodrich truck tyres are very good for 4x4 tasks, also good on the road. If longer road trips are required the Yokohama geolander are your best choice, quiet and long lasting.
