Govt spokesman clarifies 114 million baht PR budget offered to his company

BANGKK: -- Government spokesman Caption Yongyuth Maiyalarp today denied of awarding over a hundred million baht public relations campaign budget to a company which he owned, saying it was untrue.

The spokesman came out to defend himself following report that a company by the name of DM Intercommunication Ltd was awarded more than 114 million baht PR budgets from the government – the latest budget was for the PR campaign of the Commerce Ministry’s Thong Fa ( Blue Flag ) goods.

The report has prompted Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to order an investigation which revealed the company was awarded the Thong Fa campaign budget in June this year, as well as was awarded budgets from several government agencies in the past for up to 114 million baht.

Capt Yongyuth said in fact the total 114 million baht budget was not from a single PR budget, but from all 64 PR campaign budgets received from government agencies during the past 14 years since 2000.

He said the company has been in operations for over a decade and now has many employees working in the field of radio and television.

He said sponsorship budgets were derived honestly not only from government agencies but also private corporations.

He sad now he had no business connectiin with the company as he has already sold all stakes at below cost price since July 30 as he was too tired with the work while having plentiful work on flood and political conflicts.

He said he had negotiated sales deal for a certain period with interested buyers, and while negotiation was reached and deal price was still on talks, his company’s staff were also still working and was awarded the Thong Fa project in June.

He explained this was the reason why his wife had to sign the deal as new investor still could not yet resume operation.

He denied interfering in the Thong Fa project, saying he was busy with hospital and the military junta’s spokesperson work.

On the prime minister’s probe order, he said this would be clarified by his deputy later.

So now its the wife that signed the deal because new investors bla bla.

114 Million Baht not bad for a captain. He surely doesn't drive a Click/Wave such as the fake army captain that was busted by the Bangkok police yesterday.

An "honest mistake".OK we have heard that one before

regards Worgeordie

Could it be a ' typing error ' as with the Tambon administration claiming the same old age allowances on multiple occasions ?

Did you all miss the fact that the company has been doing government PR work since 2000 and has been awarded 64 different contracts since that time!

Why spoil a good story with something as boooring as facts??coffee1.gif

Which is rather irrelevant surely - the most recent one is in June AFTER he was appointed. A simple thing like conflict of interest usually comes into play in a clean admin.

Sommai Phasee, Finance Minister, to the APEC meeting in Beijing today; "Thailand is back to normal" (just one set of noses in the snout now [the right ones])

"..........noses in the snout now.."

That may be, previously the PTP had their noses well and truly in the trough, what's changed here?

So this government, that said it would end all corruption, is in power for about 1 (one) month and this is already the second corruption scandal that has come to the surface. Who knows how many more are still below the surface.

My guess is that this General happiness government is gone put PTP at shame in the amount of corruption.

So he got contracts from Chuan, Thaksin, Surayuth, Abhisit, Yingluck government?

If that is true it doesn't look much like corruption to me. Or say not like unusual corruption.

And 10 Millions per year isn't that much as well.

An official spokesman has clarified NO probe has been ordered as the PM trusts Prayuth who is doing a good job.

Remember Thaksin only made it to the rank of LtCol in the police, this young prospect in on track for a good future.

Seems then if the guy was a fraud he was already wrong when he did it for the PTP.

But if its true.. and there are 64 different contracts and since 2000 then he either is good at it.. or he has some real good contacts and its nepotism.

What did he actually clarify? That his company has received 114 million baht from the government and associated corrupt agencies over recent years?

No need for further questioning. Cased closed. He's mates with Prayuth and associates Ltd., PLC. bah.gif

If this isn't a misuse of public money.....I don't know what is....

Conflict if interest is the first that comes to mind......

These people have no ethics whatsoever........this new government/admisitration has many new faces......unfortunately, what is becoming clearly evident, is that they are exactly the same people as the ones they replaced.........
