Work Permit Visa Question

Featured Replies

Ok ive just renwed my work permit for the second year im employed with a company in bangkok,

now last year i had a years visas to go with the work permit which required me to report into immigration every 90days , this visa expires 14th November and even though i have been issued with another year on my work permit the company i work for has adviced me the new visa may not be completed in time for issue due to paperwork problem or something.

So what i want to no is this, if i report in before this visa expires on the 14th November will it give me another 90days or not?

If the above is not the case near to visa expiry can i exit thailand with my family and come back in on a 30day and then hope the new visa is re issued in that time.

You apparently have an extension of stay you obtained at immigration not a visa.

The reports of staying in the country longer than 90 days you have been doing are not extensions they give you no additional time.

If your employer is unable to get the documents to do the extension they should give you the documents to go out and get a single entry non B visa. That would give you a 90 day entry.

If your family is on dependent extensions they would need to go out with you and get non-o visas so that they could apply for new extensions when you get yours.

You would only delay having to get new visas if you only went out and back for visa exempt entries.

The 90 day report is only an address report and has noithin to do with extending your permission to stay.

If your "family" is Thai you could get a 60 day extension at immigration for 1900 baht which should cover the time until the company gets the paperwork straight.

If you go out and enter on a 30 day visa exempt stamp, you can not work.

Also an extension based on employment can not be made on a visa exempt stamp.

You could get 7 days at immigrations for your paperwork to be finished.

Hi Ubonjoe

Thanks for the reply and taking the time for doing so, can you recommend best and easiest place to get a single b visa as per what you say in your comment.

Thanks

Any of the embassies or consulates in the neighboring countries would be a would be a good choice with the exception of KL because the are not consistent with their requirements.

In the northern part of the country Vientiane or Savannakhet would be good. Or Pedang for the south.
