What does this prove? More than a million UK adults believe "The world is run by dinosaur-like reptiles"

There is a good bandwagon to jump on when this case plays out in court.

the mafia supporters fail to see the wood for the trees again !!

mercy... just looking for some bread crumbs falling off the tables... a hungry stomach can lead to delusion...

JTJ even "likes" it, that's cool.... 5555555

Why does it matter? Conspiracy nuts will just not believe and demand more proof only to then go on and disbelieve that.

.

What kind of results are these people thinking will happen ... that somehow the two DNA samples collected at the scene will somehow match a third person making two people who don't even share the same heritage having identical DNA. THEY ALREADY MATCHED THE DNA and this kid was not even on the island at the time of the murders. At least their is tough defamation laws in Thailand and this is a perfect example of when they should be used.

Nice to see that the BiB have their spokesman aboard here.

See Bangkok Post articled titled "Former Koh Tao murder 'suspect' confirms innocence" dated Sep. 30th.

In the article it clearly states he was named as a suspect and clearly states police later "officially cleared him" on Sep. 25th.

Wow ! U believe what is written in news papers ?

Maybe u forgot , forget ... Thailand is a dictature behind a Coup and newspapers can only say what the "men in black" want they write.

I don't forgive the precedent government of Mrs Yinluck ...

I will not choose between Scylla and Charybdis ...

It's funny that a national police chief doesn't have more important work to do than preside over this media circus event in support of a lowly village headman.

Unfortunately any tests conducted by Thai authorities in Thailand have very low credibility.

DNA has now been taken

not how long for results to be reported

Possibly under 48 Hours if they rush it but not sure there is any reason to rush since this is not for any current criminal investigation and will likely only be used to help go after people with defamation suits. The purpose of this is to help silence online conspiracy theorists who demanded he submit to DNA testing but really a stupid move by the family because it is just going to get conspiracy people who demanded this to double down on their claims after the DNA doesn't match the semen and dna from the victims that has already been matched to the two suspects in custody. In that sense, the results are already in as it would be impossible for his DNA to also match... but of course this is logic and not conspiracy theory talk.

Seeing how police are the only ones investigating the case, it really is the only source for information about the investigation at this point unless you want to head back over to facebook and see what the latest conspiracy theory is since they change so often after they keep getting shot down.

There are Thai police investigating and there are UK police 'observing.' The UK police may venture to do more than observe. That's what all of us want (except JTJ and JDinasia), and that's what Thai officialdom, from the PM on down, don't want. If you don't know the reasons for this, then you haven't been paying attention.

regarding questions about phone: There was Hannah's pink phone in brown leather case which was left with one of her female friends, who in turn handed it to police the morning after the crime. That was the same phone Thai cops said was found behind the scapegoats' shack. but waidacottonpikinminute. When the cops' ruse was shown to be a lie (as revealed by photos on social media), then the cops immediately said it was David's phone. But wait again. David's phone was supposedly retrieved at the crime scene (by cops) and was broken. Anyhow stealing a phone from a crime scene is a minor crime of theft, if that's what it comes down to.

Then there was Sean, the morning after the crime. He was looking to find a phone to use, remember? Everyone has a phone, but he didn't. Did his get stolen or lost the night before? So many questions.

To me, the phone stuff isn't much significant to solving the crime - except to showcase Thai cops bumbling desperation to link the Burmese to the crime scene. There are several much more important bits of evidence. Too many to list here again (I've listed some of them in prior posts).

Or you can look at the numerous articles that say they officially cleared him on the 25th and confirmed he never fled the island because he was never there at that time and witnesses, the university he was attending and video surveillance from his apartment building confirmed this.

Ok, we can agree to disagree. I'd like to assume both of us would like the REAL criminals to be nailed for this horrendous crime.

However, to believe the 2 stills from the video evidence are a sound alibi is a reeaaaaally big stretch. Come on John, admit it.

There are 6 yr old Thais proficient on computers who could dispel that ruse.

Video is now available

Just because you didn't have it earlier doesn't mean that the investigation didn't.

video is now available that the son of Tuwichien did it

This is another farce unfolding, how does anyone know that the the supposed original sample ever came from the victim. Pathetic farce from the start and continued by the General/ PM who will do anything to protect the RTP and Thailand's image. Wrong move sunshine you are just reinforcing the international understanding that you and your country a way way behind reality.

Thailand really started to make sense to me when some one pointed out they are 100 years behind us.

Why does the police chief look so happy standing behind Nomsot? Is there a reason why this a particularly meaningful event for him personally?

When there are so many unsolved rape and murder cases and more coming in every day, not to mention his promise to come out with a plan for broad reform of the police by the end of September you would think he should be busy elsewhere.

Many ask for evidence, proof, where's the link etc.

Forget about DNA, phones Sean and the rest.

Is there any disagreement that one of the most crucial factors here is the credibility of the RTP.

The UN have described them as a criminal organisation, the weight of history is against them.

Time after time it is the RTP who are revealed as the criminals involved in so many incidents in Thailand, it is not without reason they are despised by law abiding Thais.

They serve only one master, Greed. Justice is not on their agenda.

No. The UN has never said that. A person in no way associated with the UN used a UN definition and applied it to his opinion of the RTP.

if the UN did say that, you will have no problem providing a link.

its all about misdirection

lead with the DNA and everyone runs to that issue

but theres loads of other evidence that needs to be produced in court

I think that a lot of it is inadmissible as the chain of custody is questionable and the crime scene, witnesses, CCTV, victims, samples have been interfered with

I feel for the parents and friends involved however what is happening here is a major shake up of a system that has been brought into the spotlight. Their lives although tragically cut short may in fact be the tipping point for major change. But then again maybe not and business as usual. One can dream......................................

It is nothing about conspiracy there a thousands of people who want to see evidence that he was not involved so that they see that this case is being handled honestly.

DNA is one thing but maybe some proof of phone records to show where he actually was at the time the crimes happened .

Why is it unfair to ask for to ask for this type of evidence.?

He is not a suspect.

DNA is a simple yes or no answer and the tests are done under the total control of the Thai police with no possibility of independent verification. The public expected to be wowed intimidated into silence.

I can understand it .. if the guy is innocent and some internet hero's destroy his image.. id be pissed too.

If the guy is innocent?? Well yeah, but if he was innocent he would of submitted long ago to a DNA test.

This is Thailand. There is innocent, Innocent, INNOCENT AND INNOCENT.

It's just a matter of how much money it takes to make one "Innocent". wai2.gifwai2.gifwai2.gif

It cost OJ a lot of money to be innnnnocent, (by the original color)

Maybe somebody else was using his phone or maybe they paid off the phone company to alter records ... exactly to what extent should a suspect cleared of a crime, a crime which two suspects are already in custody, have to go to prove his innocence to Internet Conspiracy Theorists who have absolutely no proof to even logically accuse him of being involved. DNA is not good enough but you somehow think phone records will be. Others have suggested things like airlines need to publicly release their passenger manifests.

BBC's Jonathan Head take on it:

"Bizarre performance as # KhoTao boss son has v public DNA sampling and blood test at police HQ Bangkok."

https://twitter.com/pakhead

Looking forward to hear some more details on the BBC about the "bizarre" statement

It is bizarre. Have you ever seen a person who is not a suspect show up with press to publicly give DNA?

They don't even see how such ("bizarre" as the BBC puts it) display publicly damages their own credibility... for them its TOTALLY normal to publicly take sides this way, and parade and shame other in front of TV cameras the other way... "Thaimocracy"

It's their own problem, they could have submitted to a DNA test early on - no match then, problem gone. Now nobody will believe it anymore.

What've you been sleeping? They did submit their DNA (See post #124). Do try and keep up.

What I remember was that at the of the DNA sample from Mom, he was cleared with in hours and it was stated it was not a match, when previously they stated that they needed to send it to Singapore for it to be analyzed. So who cleared the Uncle.

To JD in Asia and JTJ.

Mr Nomsod has said that he was in Bangkok and you clearly believe him. Millions don't. Let him prove it by obtaining his phone records. If he was in BKK it will show. If he was in KT it will show. Important of course to get the right phone, at least the right SIM.

IS it also true that the "village headman" also owns the bar, where drugs are (allegedly) sold?

in the US, if the bartender sells a drink to an underage minor, and that minor is then the victim of a crime,

the bar owner faces jail time, and usually the immediate closure of the bar

with all the police and army there,

are you telling me that there is still "widespread drug use on Kho Tao?" and if there is, isn't the village headman responsible and thus, liable?

If I were a local business owner there, hotelier, bar keep, whatever,

I would be pretty pissed off that the village headman only wanted to give a million baht if it could be proved his son and nephew were the , "killers of Kho Tao",

and didnt offer the same one millin baht, to find the actual killers, so everyone would feel safe again

I guess it's not enough that you -- along with all the other conspiracy junkies -- have thoroughly trashed this family's reputation on social media. Now you'd like to hold him responsible for something as ambiguous as "widespread drug use on Kho Tao". That's like holding the mayor of a city responsible for crimes committed there. Ludicrous. In case you haven't noticed, there's "widespread drug use" everywhere and no single village headman is going to stop it.

You people have no shame. If this family is eventually "exonerated" what plan do you have for rectifying the damage done and your part in it?

OK Lex,

I will ask another way then

1) Does the village head man own the bar?

2) Does the bar sell drugs?

3) do people use drugs in or at the bar?

4) how do the drugs get there?

5) how do the drugs get past the police?

6) how is he not respnsible then?

I can honestly say I don't know. Can you honestly say you do? If so can you provide reliable sources?

Yes. I know. Now go and sit in the corner.

JTJ could be right on the money with his call. The top cop declared the investigation is closed. So right away, the kid (who should have been #1 suspect and who was avoiding DNA all along) comes forward and submits a DNA swab. In other words, even if the DNA proves his involvement with the crime, mai pen rai, the case is closed, so he and his buddies can go back to the all-night beach parties with bevvies of sexy young drugged farang chicks, and.....

I don't know who did this so the only way to make this case transparent is to start again. Get every suspects alibis, DNA, phone records etc and go through them.

Actually in this day and age with all the technology we have why don't we use this technique.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8815241/What-the-way-you-walk-can-reveal-about-you.html

Almost as unique as your fingerprints. Use this on the running man. He was classed as the main suspect and many people think it is Nomsod. This technique only works on barefooted people and the suspect is so no problem.

If you mean 2 or 3 hundred thousand people who see a problem with this investigation and don't want to see innocent people jailed for life unless they are the real killers.

These 2 or 3 hundred thousand people have raised doubts so the proof should be shown to erase all doubts .

Not like you and your 2 mates who are happy to see these 2 accused burmese men put to the gallows as quick as possible.

Now that the DNA has been swapped, he is willing to submit to a test.

And I'm going to sue whoever dared to tell the truth, farang don't understand this is Thailand and the truth is just a minor inconvieance that shouldn't be taken seriously!

Exactly what they mean.. the DNA is swapped.. no proof of this statement at all but posted anyway.

Indeed Rob. 50+ other posters like this statement too. So over 50 people have decided who must be guilty, based on an anonymous facebook page, which this site identifies as a rumor mill.

Frightening that they can't see the dangers themselves.
