DNA results from Ko Tao village head’s son don't match traces on slain British tourists

This is Thailand and as a result know one knows if the deceased bodies were cleaned up in any way before repatriation.

I am sure it is almost certain the British Home Office Pathologists WILL have all the DNA samples on the bodies.

There report will reveal all.

Expect leaked parts of the report to appear very soon.

Balo says: It's never been proven that the headmans son was caught on camera at the island, only confirmed the son was in Bangkok, in the CCTV footage ,CSI LA tried to make it look like he is the same person, Its not real evidence as the boy could be anyone else with that kind of haircut.

I think if the CCTV footage from the island is scrutinized objectively, it shows the headman's boy. Have cops experimented with having both the Burmese 2, and Nomsod walk individually in that same spot, with same lighting, and same clothing? That's the sort of thing a professional & thorough investigation would do. There are a hundred basic things Thai investigators don't appear to have done. I've listed a few dozen in prior posts. Just looking at the reenactment on the beach, should be enough in itself to prove Thai cops are not only inept, but are fixated upon a frame-up.
As for CCTV footage proving Nomsod was in Bkk at the time of the murder. Only a cross-eyed person who achingly wants the son to be shielded from justice could believe that ruse. It was a mediocre patch job on that CCTV footage. I hope the headman's people didn't pay more than Bt.500 for it.

Balo continues.....
Do you really think Thailand as a nation will risk everything on this murder case? That they will blame scapegoats just to protect a local village headman? Not a chance but its difficult to convince conspiracy theorists posting here.

As I mentioned earlier, Thai officials are compelled to be committed to the frame-up scenario. They can't deviate. If Thai officials had known (earlier) how many Thais and farang are howling for justice, in sustained choruses, week after week, they would never have embarked on the frame-up. But they can't back down now. They're committed. They have no wiggle room. One of the most important things Thai officials need to do, to maintain the frame-up (and shielding the headman's people), is to continue to stymie the Brit experts. Thais already declared they won't share DNA with the Brits. What else they're withholding, we probably don't know at this time. I imagine they're trying as much as possible to limit what the Brits can see, and who they can talk to.

The boy can't be called to do anything because he officially became a person of disinterest after suitable arrangements had been made to confirm his alibi and his DNA test proved he was related to the headman.

I don't know if the Brits were able to find any DNA after the Thai police cleaned everything up with the bodies but taking DNA from the parents of the 2B should be enough to compare, if there was anything to compare it with and, if the British had a mind to, which I doubt.

I think the Thai PM is going to have a 'word' with the Thai consulate in Los Angeles for officially inviting the owner of CSI LA to the party

Or simply arrest him there.
Is he a criminal? Oh, I get it, from the perspective of JD and Thai officials, he's a criminal because he posts input online from regular people who want to see justice done. That would explain why Thai officials, JD and the headman's people see the networker as criminal. I'm sure they would have no trouble getting some sort of contrived criminal charge to stick to him. He's a pain-in-the-you-know-what for all the interesting photos and evidence he's posting on his site. The last thing Thai officials want revealed is truth. That's why they stymied the Brit experts, and won't even share basic crime scene data with the Brits.

Fully agree. Start from Bangkok,Phuket,Pattaya.

Ill say!! after ya all accuse this island of been worst place and tell boycot Koh tao. Maby all yer shud think 2 more time. Im not shure what happened but stand behind my comments about my info about it. Who cares. I do!

You get longer words and phrases spelled correctly (most of the time) but you consistently misspell simple little words, and your phrasing is skewed - sometimes correct, but more often screwed-up. It looks like you're intentionally skewing your sentences. Try a spell check, they're easy-to-use and free. Coyness is ok for 4 year olds, but it doesn't fit for this forum. Take your baby talk somewhere else. Thanks.

Boomerangutang, did the RTP fail to share basic crime scene data with the UK police?

I seem to have missed that in any report!

Someone somewhere must have a photograph of the headman's son that was taken in the days leading up to the 15th September which would show whether he had short or longish hair. I know this has been discussed already, but why hasn't a friend or family member come forward and produced a picture to prove he had short hair and that the person in the cctv footage could not be him?

Personal y I suspect that the Thai authorities would have ensured that poor hannas body would have been cleaned and prepared for burial . Along with a claim that this is Thai culture blah blah blah.

Boomerangutang, did the RTP fail to share basic crime scene data with the UK police?

I seem to have missed that in any report!

Toyota came out with a snappy jingle a few decades ago. Some of you might remember it: "You asked for it, you got it, Toyota." JD, you asked for it, you got it: After the media event with the headman, his son, the smirking police chief and the reps from four labs, there was a result which surprised no one: The son's DNA didn't match. Remember that? While announcing the result, the head cop also announced he would not share the son's DNA results with the British. That's just one announcement during many weeks when both the Thai and British experts have been studiously mum on saying anything re; the investigation. So, it won't be surprising to find that Thai officials have been either keeping other things from the British and/or trying to continue to stymie what the British may want to look at. The Brits are already hamstrung with 'observer only' status. I can picture conversations like this:

>>> Brit expert: how about if we take a look at the possible involvement of one or two of the people who were hassling with the victims in the bar prior to everyone leaving late at night?

>>> Thai official: No need. We already talk to all those people. Everyone there innocent. Next question.

The headman's son did have longer hair just prior to and during the time of the crime. Immediately afterwards, he got a haircut. It would be v. interesting to talk to the barber, but that's nigh impossible for obvious reasons. The KT video indicated to many who saw it (cops included) that it was indeed Nomsod. The son also got his sideburns styled to face back instead of forward. Easy to do by any barber. There are also photos on social media which show the the son (Nomsod) with a peculiar mannerism re; his left hand. He appears to often hold it close to his stomach. In the KT video after the crime, the person is doing similar. The social media photos show Nomsod sitting and standing with left arm in a similar posture. Also, it's quite likely David suffered wounds inflicted by a left-hander, and Nomsod is purportedly left-handed. His uncle (another person who should still be a prime suspect) may also be a left-hander. Can anyone shed more light on some of these items?

Boomerangutang,

I guess you don't know what a crime scene is, therefore don't understand "crime scene data" either.

What crime was committed by the DNA being volunteered?

Just had a quick look on booking.com 30 + hotels with rooms available for the entire month of January. High season ????? Really ? Last year I found it hard to find a room there for 5 days in February !

My only problem with a boycott of KT is that other business owners will suffer. I know that we say they should come forward with evidence to bring down the criminals but it's not that easy when you don't know who to trust.

If I had a daughter or wife etc I'd be worried the police would take my report and simply pass it on to the criminals in exchange for payment.

We all have suspicions about how far up this cover up goes.

I suspect many leaks have indeed come from the good people there who probably live in fear.

I won't be going there ever again but let's not forget the honest people there who will suffer even more because of those vile families and police/gangster squads.

Congratulations, you get 'Obfuscation Award of the Day' !!!

I already stated in earlier posts that I could do a lot better investigation than the Thai officials, and I'm not a trained crime investigator. A lot of other posters on here could do a better job than Thai officials, and that's not even a boast.

And then there's the obvious cover-up / frame-up / shielding the Headman's people. Jeezo, I don't think Thai officials could do a worse job of this investigation if they tried.

I'll try to address your twisted interpretation of my prior statements: DNA volunteered, after being withheld for 2 months? Hmmmm, it's plain the dad, son, chief cop wouldn't have had that press conference if they all weren't 101% sure prior that the DNA wouldn't match. Why did the DNA not match?, you may ask. Simple, the DNA purportedly from the female victim is not reliable. Even Ms Porntip opined as much. But I take it a step further and say the DNA which top cops have labeled "DNA taken from Hannah" is actually the Burmese DNA clandestinely used for that purpose. In other words, it would be easy to chuck the actual DNA cards (taken from Hannah) in the trash can. Take a photo-copy of the Burmese DNA cards, and re-label the copies as "DNA taken from Hannah."

It will be interesting to see what the Brits declare, if/when they do so. Many folks assume the Brits took DNA from the victims, but we won't know for sure until there's some sort of announcement in that regard. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it and apologize profusely. Will JD do the same if he/she's wrong in supporting Thai officials in all they've done and will do?

Dr Pornthip didn't opine anything. She wouldn't be a reliable person for an investigation run by the UK.

You seem not to even understand the claims you make.

You talk about withholding crime scene data and then reference a press conference. A press conference may be bad drama but rarely is it a crime scene.

If the people you assert are found guilty I will apologize. I do when I am wrong. You will just claim it was a conspiracy if the 2 Burmese men accused of being the killers are convicted

Understand where your coming from, but a complete boycott of murder island is required, there are potentially brutal killers on the loose, never lose sight of that. Its not just the killers either its the accomplices also. Its a danger to go there while this is the case

The response from the Brits will be whatever they are allowed to say. That is it. This much aggrandized British investigation into the murders was an agreement between two Prime Ministers, and even then a lot seemed to be lost in translation. They both want it to go away, and that is what is going to happen. It's just going to go away.

I'm not slagging the British investigators by the way. Neither of the PM's actually care... they simply bend over a bit to satiate public opinion. More so Cameron.

Anyone taking a few minutes to think will realize that tourists will never stop going to Koh Tao.

The demographics of the tourists may change though, but probably not.

This is true. From december till end of January its nearly fully booked so not much change on previous years.

Not according to a resort owner there.. but you obviously know better

Sort of live here..

You get the 'Misquoting Award of the Day' Congrats!

You can say I and others have no idea what we're talking about. This is an open forum, so you can also say I have 3 arms and green skin, whatever.

I can have some expertise in a topic without being professionally trained in it. I could make a list of things which I'm expert at, ...which I didn't have formal training in. Would you like to see the list?

You slipped in the word 'superb.' I never used that word. If superb fits with solving the case, then ok, slip it alongside my name if you want to. I often tell people, in regard to many of life's endeavors, there's a correct way to do something (specific to the task at hand), and there are 1,000 erroneous ways. Thai officials are not only being erroneous re; their investigation of the KT case, they're fabricating evidence, they're purposefully hiding evidence, they're framing the B2 and they're shielding the headman's people. Their ruse was busted from day 1, but they're stuck with having to maintain it, no matter how tattered their reputation gets.

It's like trying to take a rowboat through the Strait of Magellan. Once you commit to doing it, you either get battered by 15 foot waves for 2 weeks, or you sink.

Yes you can assume the following:

1. There are no unsolved murders where I live that involved a double murder.

2. There are no unsolved murders where I live that involved the UK & Burmese governments expressing their serious concerns at the investigation

3. There are no unsolved murders where I live that numerous international human rights agencies have also expressed serious concerns at the investigation

4. The are no unsolved murders where I live where the UK police have come over to try and observe/review the RTP investigation

5. There are no unsolved murders where I live that over 100,000 people signed an online petition for that was also promoted by the victims family

6. I have never stated the B2 were innocent, of that I really do not know. What I do know is that even if they were involved in same way then they were not alone and there are others out there. Regardless because of the appalling investigation process then no court in the world could as a result hold a fair hearing, let alone a Thai one. The RTP have fuxked it up big time and a new investigation is the only thing that will satisfy people. The crime scene fiasco from the start disqualified any DNA from being credible. Other evidence is now needed.

I do find it interesting that you think a conspiracy theory posted somewhere else adds credibility to your theory :)
