Yes they are doing a good job. Pity that their daily promotion emails are all in Thai, otherwise i would buy more there. I like to know what the conditions for the promotions are ... cant even use google to translate it ... maybe later ...

If the box shops cannot offer top shelf customer service, they will soon join the dinosaurs.

I use to order thousands of Baht a month in "Stuff". But never got discounts advertised as they were in Thai.

So I have stopped ordering because i can not read and take advantage of the specials, the discounts or deals as they are in Thai. Explanation on the phone is time consuming and usually wrong.

So I don't use online websites here in Thailand anymore, unless they are also in English.

Ordering from Amazon will work for now.

I have bought about 10 items from Lazada and can only speak positively of my experiences.

Agree about the marketing emails being useless and any links I try and follow fail to find the product.

I just wished they stocked the Garmin nuvi 55 - it would save me a trip to an electronics shop.

My experience with them is Excellent, no complaints, great service.

But my frustration lever is very high with the web site.

Maybe one day they will get the idea, I even went to the Malaysian website to reads specifications.

But alas no perks, discounts or deals for Thailand listed.

To Bad they have great service and support.

I prefer the instant gratification that retail shops give.

Have tried Lazada but its an empty feeling once it arrives.

Now I understand why it's called retail therapy.

So you live in Thailand, want to order many things with them but don't do that because their ads are in Thai only, a language you can not read even though you're living here.

Sorry, this makes no sense, especially since you're living in Thailand, and if there is a special deal on something you ordered you will get that special deal as well. Even though you can not read Thai.

Oh, and the Lazada website is in English as well.

Lazada is basically what Amazon is in western countries. They have copied the concept including the extremely good logistics. Brick and mortar stores can never compete on prices or availability - it's just impossible. There are two advantages they can have: 1. inspect in person before buy 2. good service (advice/information and repairs)

Point 1. can be important sometimes but not in the majority of cases. Point 2. is something many shops don't realize how important it will be for their future and like mentioned before in many cases staff are just sitting around playing with their phones. This is purely a management issue and something they could solve but I doubt they will.

The future looks bleak for brick and mortar stores I think, it's just so much more efficient to order via the internet. I personally am indifferent to this but I feel there might be stronger tendencies to form monopolies like Amazon is approaching.

Yes, there is an English version of their site, but all the descriptions/specifications of their products are in Thai. So, you note the product details from an English language site ( as an example, I'm interested in a JBL Flip II bluetooth speaker at the moment), look up the model in Lazada, and hope you're ordering the same spec that you want. Not completely satisfactory, and I can understand why some want to hold something in their hands and check it out before buying.

Yes, true, and I agree, I also like to hold and look at something before I buy. But the additional charge for that has to be reasonable, and the travel time has to be reasonable.

I like the idea that you can pay cash on delivery, as I don't have a credit card or Paypal account. I have never browsed the site before and was surprised at some of the discounts.

I was also surprised - and a bit relieved - that the Sony WSC 350 camera that I bought last week from Powerbuy was the same price! biggrin.png

Happened to be near Central yesterday so had a look in iStudio. Picked up a JBL Flip II for 4900 baht (Lazada 4700 baht). Got to make sure it worked (bluetooth paired with my phone) in the shop, so quite happy.

Think Lazada is good for big ticket items, or there just isn't a retailer for what you want near your location.

Before moving here I did a large proportion of my shopping online. I was on first name terms with the Australia Post parcels delivery man. I loathed going into shops and all that that entailed. (With the possible exception of a good boating or hardware store.)

I have a friend coming up this weekend and his suitcase will be half full of large size clothes for me, and a RAM upgrade card, items I sourced online there, and had delivered to his house.

However, I find Lazarda to be a pain to use. I hate that it suddenly changes languages when I seek more detail on a product and the haphazard style of the web pages can be very frustrating. I started to buy products several times, but gave up in frustration.

I do like the idea of pay on delivery.

one of the terms of contract as a supplier to Lazada, you cannot advt cheaper than the price you have on the Lazada site ...if u advt your goods cheaper anywhere else they terminate you on the spot ....its actually a very well run business with a farang CEO...

Holy crap, they even have toys. LEGO galore. My Christmas and Birthday shopping just got easier.

Lazada have expanded/continue to expand their inventory into all sorts of areas.
