exact time to report for 90 day residence

Featured Replies

I entered Thailand on 19th August and got a 30 day extension on grounds of retirement on 7 Oct.

1. Do I need to report within 90 days for residency calculated from a. 19th August or b. 90 days from 7th October?

2. How long before the 90 days can I report.

Thank you in advance for advice

Stapled inside your passport, you have no 90-day report form? If so, it has the required renewal date. If not, I don't know and will not guess.

You can do the 90-day report up to 14 days prior to the expiry date.

What kind of visa did you enter on?

30 day extension is given only on tourist visas.

Extension based on retirement is one year.

If you you have one year extension of stay you should have a notification paper in your passport.

First extension of stay based on retirement counts as 90 day reporting so should be from 7th October in this case.

90 day reporting can be made in person 15 days before and up to 7 days late.

Sorry for my error - I got a 3 month extension on a tourist visa based on retirement (on 7 Oct) was told to go back at beginning of Dec for one year extension. But not sure when to report residency - calculated from 19th August entry into country or 7 Oct when extension was issued?

Also what documents do I need to show for residency in Bangkok please?

The rule is 90 days after your first extension, so from october 7th.

Please someone do let me know what documents I need fro reporting residency - my house bills are in previous resident's name. Do I need copy of owner's blue house book? Other papers?

On another matter - can I apply for extension of permit to stay ( 1 year retirement) as well as re-entry permit on the same day - as I will be leaving Thailand the following week for a couple of weeks

I sounds like you entered on a tourist visa on 19 August and did a conversion to a Non-O based on retirement on 7 October. It should have cost you 2000 baht. They would have given you 90 days permission to stay. During the last 30 days of that permission to stay , early December, you have to go back in and apply for a 1 year extension. You will have to do your report 90 days from the date that you do your extension as that counts as the first report date, The extension will cost you 1900 baht. You can purchase a reentry permit at the same time, single 1000 baht, multiple, 3800 baht.

When you do the extension you will need proof of address. If you are renting that would be a rental agreement, and a copy of the owner's house book and ID signed by the owner.

I do not need to show any documentation for 90 day reporting here on Samui.

You can get your re-entry permit at the same time.

Single is 1000 baht, multiple re-entry is 3800 baht.

If he is on a Non-O issued on & October7, he will need the proof of address when he applies for his 1 year extension.

For follow on reports it is not required if you do them in person, but Nakhon Sawan still, I think, wants to see proof if you do it by mail. I send it anyway as I do my reports by post. I did another 1 year extension on Tuesday and they did require it then.
