November 4, 201411 yr Ok, so I got my ED visa in Laos back in June, valid for three months. My school told me that after the three months were up, I would extend it for a year, so back in august I went over and applied for the extension, and wrote down 'one year' on the form like the school told me to. It all went fine and I got the new stamps, except one of them now says "Extension of stay permitted up to 29 Nov 2014". I expected something like June 2015. Does this mean I need to extend it again, rather than just the 90 day report? Or did they mix it up and I'll have to get a whole new visa?
November 4, 201411 yr You will have to apply for another extension before the 29th. You need to get your school moving on the paperwork becasue it can take several weeks to get it done, Since August extensions for language studies are only for 90 days at a time up to total stay of one year from the date you entered on the ED visa. After the year you now have to go out for another visa. You need to a 90 day report along with the extension.

I don't know how anyone could've gotten more than that. I've always put down 90 days when applying an extension of stay when I went to Chaeng Wattana as 90 days has always been the rules.
November 4, 201411 yr It still is 90 days at a time, but now the total time in Thailand cannot be longer than 1 year from date of entry on the ED-visa. Than you have to leave to apply for a new ED-visa.

There were some immigration offices that were issuing one year extensions. Bangkok and CW were not the only places doing extensions based upon going to school.
