This has nothing to do with u-turns.

It's done so nobody can park their car there.

Also to make it difficult for pedestrians to step there.

But Thailand has already solved the problem with making it difficult for pedestrians.

They haven't got any pavements and if there are some here and there they are occupied by street vendors.

Actually I saw a similar design in the States, but there is was to deter the homeless people sleeping under the Expressway.

Wider nodules but not as pointy.

Wouldn't stop a street vendor. Just throw some metal sheeting or plywood over the points and set up the cart.

Also need to install hydraulic barriers at traffic lights to stop retards jumping red lights.
