Never really cared much for Triumphs though the 675 is impressive.

it is first triumph i checked after price reduction but no, it is still a crazy 920 k THB:(

i think they will not be doing them in Thailand.

Not quite sure what the plans are now for the " super factory" scheme in India?

This modified Scrambler looks so good thumbsup.gif

Now, I wouldn't throw that bike out of my garage, need some asbestos pants perhaps, but yes, should be in the "Bike Porn" section. Better than all those CBR250 facsimiles.

Why don't they have one British bike I can afford in Thailand....just one...anything?

Triumph just significantly lowered the prices on pretty much all their bikes. You should be able to find something! They even have financing.

So did anybody here order a Triumph? Or only small talkingtongue.png

I would like to know the waiting time for a Bonneville T100?

The dealer in Rayong seems to have disapered from Britbikes dealer page, no good for me if they did as I am based in Pattaya and really don't fancy going to BKK. I think now is a good time to set up a shop in Pattaya with the new prices most can live with.

I am still off-shore working and will first be back in Thailand this weekend, hopefully, and then I gonna call Britbike in BKK.

Not yet; I'm waiting until August when I'll walk in cash in hand. Will keep an eye on this thread and anything else I can find to see if there is going to be a problem with that though. If there is, I'll have it booked in June or thereabouts.

If that true regarding delivery in June than its a bit like a bucket of cold water in the face since I am having app. 4 month holidays starting this weekend.

If that Britbike dealer in Rayong has indeed closed shop it's a further setback for me as I want a dealer fairly nearby, no way will I ride it into BKK for a 500km oil change.

Well I will see when I get home I surpose.

Then there is always a Versys 650 2015 to fall back on if it all go down the drain, which I hope not.

There is no way I do finance, but 420k baht for a real old style Bonny is cheaper than I thought, so real food for thought. We have a Triumph dealer 2km from my house, they didn't have that model in stock and didn't realise it was available today.

I must admit I am salivating, what can sell to get the money together, which bank can I rob, or can I have a really good year business wise?.

Then 'er indoors will want a small car..........life ain't fair.

There is one dude on motor forum that has a 30 year old Toyota Corolla which must be cheap to buy but it looks like he spend more time tinkering than driving, 555. But AllanB you like to tinker I beleive? So buy one of those and when you are feed up with it, take the Bonnie for a spin.

Off-course Mrs AllanB might not approve that idea. biggrin.png

"Give me a child until he is 7 and I have him for life"....it's all about upbringing, can't bring myself to spend that sort of money. Plus, I rode a 1979 Bonny for a week and a bit, around England in the summer of '82, (borrowed leathers, so looked the part, but no licence), never ridden anything as good since, not even close.....And maybe I should just leave it there and crack on with the 30 year old Honda, even though I feel nothing. bah.gif

The younger generation are missing really out.........

Nostalgia is a funny thing. I feel the same way about my first 'bike' a '77 Motobécane Mobylette. Even saw one up near Lom Sak that I almost begged the owner to sell to me.

But then I thought about it. Wouldn't make much sense and would probably ruin those fond memories I had putt-putt-putting along in my teen years.

You of course could buy a new Bonny and approximate the experience that a '79 model would give you. Pull the headers and slip a couple of washers into them to reduce power output. Only run in the lowest gears with a taller gear ratio so that you can experience the lowered fuel economy. Have somebody randomly reach in and mess with your electronics to approximate the Lucas Electrics that are not on the current models. Etc.

If it was a T140E that first came out in "79, I wouldn't have had the Lucas problems of old. My "81 model was one of the most reliable and nicest rides that I have owned and that was after nearly 25 year use (not all by me).

My mate Joe, who's bike it was, said it was last of the kick start models? his hip is a bit buggad now, which he blames on the Bonny.

He was at Bristol University and Vet school for 5 years and rode home to Slough most weekends, about 100miles away, two up and any issues he had were minor. We were apprentices together so he knew his way around a spanner, never saw it in anything but AI condition.

He got married shortly after and sold it...regretted it every since...ce est la vie!

Yes, that Bonny would make a nice Xmas present if Santa is listening.

Or, you realize you're not dead yet, you might as well enjoy that one life you were given on this planet, and get on a real bike and putter around on it! Maybe you really don't have the money, or you have some other reasons - but if not then realize you're not dead yet. No matter your age, even if you're 99, it doesn't matter.

Why do people choose to die before their body is even buried, while they're still walking around?! :P

No, misunderstand. I plan on doing the Indian Himalayas on an Enfield Bullet, next summer, south America the year after. I visit the UK each year to work on my old Bourne 35 river cruiser and plan on touring Europe too.

So, it is a question of priorities.

I would like to do the European thing on a Bonny, but passing a driving test now is tough and time consuming and Bonnies are expensive there too.

Nevertheless, I do follow the 3 golden rules appropriate to my age and status.....

1. Never pass a toilet.

2. Never trust a fart.

3. Never waste an erection.wub.png

^ LOL I agree with those rules!

For Europe, you could probably use the Thai driving license for while you're there. I know they're good for vacations. And they're relatively easy to get, even with the "new" rules. Certainly a whole lot easier than Europe. I've been using the Thai license on my USA visits. Can't be bothered to renew the US one.

Good to hear you are, after all, still alive :)

REALLY!!! You hire a bike in the US using a Thai driving licence, oh I have one of those.....

Must inquire, would love to bike around Europe with the Missus, thought it impossible. Joe took his 5ft nothing blonde bit of skirt down to southern Spain on the Bonny, she drove part of the way.

My missus ain't blonde, not many Thai girls are, well not with matching collars are cuffs.

One good thing about this is the price of second hand Triumphs will come down and there will be more on the market. I think in about 18 months you will see them which is great for those on a budget or customisers looking for a project bike.

Good point, I always liked the previous model Street Triple R with the round lights and underseat exhaust, wonder how much a 2010 will fetch when they're available new for 4xx,xxx?

I loved that bike wub.png

The bike in the picture is almost exactly the same as my old Street R, even the colour.

I had Zard Carbon cans, GB Racing Engine protector casings, Black fly screen and standard mirrors / rear sets on mine though.

Special times indeed........

Now is crazy times with an MT-09 vampire.gif.pagespeed.ce.503w77X5K-BtnYe

For those that are interested in triumphs around pattaya. Marine and motor (Yamaha dealer) on sukhumvit rd across from Thepprasit apparently have them with the new prices. Not sure what models as I haven't been there myself.

Well not anymore, the 3 Bonneville T-100's in the shop are sold and they will not get more.

I was there 2 days ago and from what I can understand they will not be selling anymore as Britbike has the final word and I don't think they want a odd shop like that selling Triumphs since they also sell almost anything Yamaha (with motor).

The dealer in Rayong has closed too which is no good for us based on the Eastern Seaboard because now we only have BKK left which is not acceptable for mesad.png

I will try call Britbike in BKK tomorrow and ask what is going on.

I will keep you posted regarding the outcome.
