Just to let people know, as I know many people follow these things:

Applied for ILR at end of 2 year UK spouse visa; end of August 2014.

Received biometric enrolment end of September 2014.

ILR granted late November 2014; total time 11 weeks.

I didn't expect any problems with this application, but there are always a couple of minor points that might be flagged up. Actually this was roughly my expected best case scenario.

Top tip: don't send your wife to the post office to get her biometrics taken on the first few days of term for the local university because it will be jam packed with foreign students doing the same thing.

Another point: she will be issued with the biometric ID card only; we expected that there would be an ILR stamp in her passport too. I didn't read anything about this in any of the information I found when researching this topic.
