i dont like the police raiding a place of cult heavily armed

Tough. Seems like a good result to me. Twenty per cent of the congregation busted for illegal immigration status.

Wonder if you'd say that if you had to fly back home to get a new visa.

We were all crying recently simply because of the border runs crackdown. And I also wonder if you're properly documented.

What'd you do for a living in Thailand? Any LEGAL activity? No? Guessed so...

As for border runs, the system should change: no more border runs for Farangs staying here with a valid visa, and no more border runs anymore either for anyone who SHOULD NOT BE HERE! Simple, clear.

P.S.: Fly back home for a visa, but maybe better don't come back, neither the Thais, nor the 'legit' Farangs, need you here! Bye-bye, good riddance!

It was an evangelical church for pity's sake.

If they expected to find drugs in such a place then their intelligence gathering unit is short of intelligence.

These people actually believe their is a god and do not look kindly upon drug use at all.

As for proper documentation, well that's another story....they'd probably say the Bible is all the documentation they need or some sort of BS or other.

As I live right near there, I can tell you that their intelligence gathering was spot on.

And no, it wasn't me that reported them lol

Can't have been that good if didn't find any drugs.

Still bonus for you with noise polution reduction.

Wonder if I could report local kareoke place in same manner? Got to be worth a try...

Thats strange, thai jails are full of drugs dealing Nigerians...
Well for a start let me say: utter BS.

Now that's out of the way let's get more specific shall we?

A: the report says no drugs were found. Did you read that? It was quite clear, it states no drugs were found, I repeat NO drugs were found.

B: my post referred to no drugs being found on this raid (did you see that bit in the report?) and I wasn't surprised as evangelical churches and assorted god botherers do not like drugs.

By the way, did you notice in the OP they say NO drugs were found, interesting that.

C: did you just let prejudice guide your post rather than reading the OP.

Finally, did you notice they found no drugs were found on this raid?

Not a one, none at all.

Makes you wonder hey.

Doesn't matter. Twenty illegals in the hand is as good as an ounce in the bag.

2 different things. Though no problem here. The rules on visas are clear and should apply to all.

Regardless of nationality, creed or colour.

Everyone knows Nigerians in Thailand are drug dealers. Does anyone do much about it? No. Deport the ones without proper documentation.

probably.fight them and deport them but let the place of cult out of this

sometimes monks abused of their positions and committed crimes.however i never heard the police and heavily armed soldiers raiding a temple

What came first? The chicken or the egg? That Nigerian 'evangelist' (recognised as a 'sect', and rightly so IMO, by several countries) 'church', or, the Nigerian 'economical (illegal...) migrants'? Who's supporting(!) that 'church' financially, considering these 'church communities' are ran as a, profitable, business?

Not all Nigerians are drug dealers.

Remember the Nigerian soccer star who was lured to Thailand on a tourist visa? He said when the visa finish, many have to become gigolos for older Thai women. And these women want to have sex all the time.

Actual quote, 555

I do not think all Nigerians are drug dealers, just the ones who come to Thailand. However, you've opened my eyes to the possibility that they may come here to date Thai cougars. Stranger things have happened.thumbsup.gif

You should get out more eg Pattaya Police raid Casino operating in a temple

this does not look like a temple at all!! maybe a room close to the temple area??

when i say church,i mean where the people prays..not the apartment of the priests,or the offices

The goals are not full of Nigerians. There are prisoners but to say full is nonsense.

Sick puppy if you like a police state...different tune with arms turned your direction, wouldn't it be? Surely this was overly dramatic given a noise complaint.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Good riddance to those flouting Thai law.

Well then would it also be good riddance to the military for abolishing the law?

Oh ok, you don't understand what intelligent people mean by a figure of speech. Well, it's been explained elsewhere that Nigerians and other Africans are disproportionately represented in thai jails compared to other nationalities that visit Thailand. And if you don't believe that then visit some thai jails. Now, granted, thai jails aren't exactly full of Nigerians, that true, because to be full would mean they'd have to be packed in like sardines, with no space left to walk or for the guards to enter, packed as they would be from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Yes, not that many, well done for picking up on that, a very clever little man you must be. But disproportionately represented all the same, meaning a higher propensity to commit criminal offenses compared to other nationalities. Make sense?

If the news of the past few days is anything to go by, it seems that the military and the police are enforcing the laws with alacrity.

Yes, it makes perfect sense and it should silence Bluespunk, but I doubt if it will.

A few months ago I was at a street bar and one of the Nigerians started chatting with me, obviously to try to sell me something. I always wondered why they seem tolerated by the Thais despite everyone knowing what they do so I took the opportunity to try and find some answers and get a better picture of the situation. Here's what he told me....

Although the Nigerians on lower Sukhum are primarily based around Soi 3 there is apparently an affiliation with clubs on Soi 11. His English wasn't that great but I think he was saying that the 'This Is Thailand' explanation for their being out on the street is to promote nightclubs. This is the 'This Is Thailand' reason for the cops not really moving them on. Some of us might have suspicions the real reason is the cops are in on the drug dealing but he didn't go that far even though I tried to dig it out of him, but he definitely said they (the Nigerians on lower Sukhum) are working for some nightclub people.

I dunno about Soi 11 but last year a friend was in BKK for a holiday so I found myself in some nightclub/pool hall on Soi 4 and there were a lot of black guys running the pool tables, so I totally see how they could be involved in the club scene, though how they get work permits for jobs Thais could do is anyone's guess ;)

I also asked him about the ladies and he told me pretty much none of the African ladies are from Nigeria, as Nigerian ladies find it really difficult to get into Thailand. (This might imply that a lot of the Nigerian guys actually first arrive in Thailand quite legally.) I think he said the African ladies mostly come from Rwanda. I asked if some of the African guys and ladies are in a relationship and he said they are mostly not, because the ladies are not in Thailand looking to get with another African.

I then asked him if he has a girlfriend at all and he told me he has a Thai girlfriend who works in a lower Sukhum massage place catering to (farang) foreigners. He said he mostly speaks Thai with her because her English isn't that good.

Before that conversation it never occurred to me that all those Nigerians down lower Sukhumvit might be club promoters as far as the official line is concerned, but there ya go.

So if your Nigerian and want to travel to Thailand don't, you will be accussed of being a drug dealer and thrown into a Thai jail. Paddyjenkins you little irish lepracorn.

They are accused for a reason, they are drug dealers or are you telling me that delightful bunch that hang around lower Sukhumvit are here for the Thai culture?

Least you forget, we are still under Martial Law. That's a "soldier" holding the M-16 not the Police. check his shoulder patch.

And the noise people heard..that was them arguing over how to word the next "letter" they wanted to send out! Was 2 Million Euros or Baht?

See club promoters not drug dealers. Nigerians need to be left alone. To tar all with the same brush is pure racist. Breaking into a church with machine guns, bet they thought they were back in Nigeria again.

And what do people take in clubs? Drugs

Stop playing the racism card please the vast majority of people here know what Nigerians get up to in Thailand, the statistics of how many Nigerians who are in Thai prisons prove this
