tekka8 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 hi, my daughter is arriving back at don muang, from japan,on saturday 9am. She needs to get back to us in Jomtien and I would like to know her options for transport. I know there is an excellent coach service from swampy to Jomtien,is there a similar service from don muang to swampy? Or even better,a good service from don muang to pattaya/jomtien? thanks.
Ricardo Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Bell Travel started a twice-daily service from DMK to Pattaya on 15th November, although at 400B each way it's expensive & doesn't include minibus drop-off/pick-up, departs DMK 12.00 & 17.00. https://www.belltravelservice.com/pages/PageHome.aspx Or take the (free) shuttle-bus to Swampy, then Bell Travel (with minibus drop-off) or service-bus to Jomtien. Or half-hourly shuttle-bus (B30 one-way) to Mor-Chit Northern bus-station, and Ruang Reung bus to Pattaya-Nua (B60 onward-transfer by song-thaews). 1
masuk Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Is this the latest transport option? I've noticed buses at the supermarket near Jomtien beach. where does one connect with these? I'll be coming in via Don Muang. Yes, taxi would be nice and easy, but not an option.
asanee Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 There is NO DIRECT A1 bus to Mochit BUS from DMK-it ends Mochit BTS. There is also A2 (less frequent) continuing on to Vict.Monum, where you can access any of the multiple van routes to PTY=this is likely the very cheapest, but not the most comfy and luggage-fiendish. Or catch BTS to Ekamai and then normal bus. Best combo is free shuttle to BKk/Swamp and then Bell, if direct Bell does not suit times. BUS to MochitBUS-much, much less as before, are upcountrybuses that still stop at DMK MAIN rd, but its pot luck how long this will take for waiting. How expreienced in finding her way by herself is your daughter and does she speak Thai? if not, go via Swampy=tourist fail safe.

Ricardo Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 There is NO DIRECT A1 bus to Mochit BUS from DMK-it ends Mochit BTS. <snip for brevity> Wrong, the A1-bus continues from the popular BTS drop-off to MorChit Bus-Station, en-route back to Don Muang Airport.
KhunBENQ Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Or take the (free) shuttle-bus to Swampy, then Bell Travel (with minibus drop-off) or service-bus to Jomtien. Technically a good idea. But they ask for an onward booking (starting from the other airport). Is there an easy way to sneak in?
gk10002000 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 On my very first trip to Thailand in September 2004, I landed in Don Muang. I had found out that Thai air operates a minivan that goes to Pattaya. I took that. Cost was minimal, 300 baht or so at the time I think? "checked in" right at the Thai air ticket counter. No idea if that still runs.
Ricardo Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Or take the (free) shuttle-bus to Swampy, then Bell Travel (with minibus drop-off) or service-bus to Jomtien. Technically a good idea. But they ask for an onward booking (starting from the other airport). Is there an easy way to sneak in? Good point, at first it was OK, nowadays they do ask for sight an onward-ticket. But last month, coming the other way from BKK to DMK, I showed my own onward-ticket at the desk and took my seat, then watched several others sneak-on, while the desk were occupied filling-in their form for people who did have onward-tickets to show. Like so many things here, there are rules & laws, which don't always get enforced or obeyed. It would certainly be helpful if, as the volume of people using DMK rockets past 20-million, Bell Bus & Rueng-Reung (or whatever their name is) would put on a proper DMK-Pattaya bus-service, at under B250-per-person ! I'd use it, the OP's daughter would use it, many people would use it, where's the problem in serving a market-demand ?
