Expiring passport/re-entering on old visa: Urgent

Featured Replies

Hello, I would appreciate any help here. Quite urgent.

I have a UK passport and a Non-B visa (with re-entry permit) expiring June 2015.

My passport expires 20 June 2015. I have a trip booked home for Christmas where I plan to get a new passport with same day service. I planned to enter Thailand with my new passport, showing my visa in my old passport.

I will be re-entering Thailand on January 3rd. That means that my passport has just under 6 months validity on it. Does that mean therefore, that my visa will be cancelled any cannot be used to re-enter Thailand?

Really need help on this as my whole trip home could be ruined. Past experience or help would be brilliant.

Thanks.

No the visa is never cancelled. You will be entering with the new passport and will need to show the old one with the visa.

Anyway Thailand does not require 6 months min validity to enter, although some consulates website indicate that.

Thanks for your reply. So, leaving Thailand despite my passport/visa having 6 months wouldn't be a problem?

Read so many conflicting websites and had conflicting stories from people!

If there was an issue (and there is not), it would be about entering Thailand, not leaving.
