Will we get a visa for 5 month?

Featured Replies

Hello,

ok, heres the situation:

me and my girlfriend have been in thailand from june to august.

We made the visa run 3 times. When we wanted to do it the fourth time they didnt let us in again, because of the crackdown and sent us to penang where we got a tourist visa. 7 days later we left thailand.

At the moment we are at the philippines and want to go back to thailand in the first week of dezember. We want to stay there until april, because we got a job offer there as diveguides.

So, what do we have to do? Should we go to the thaiembassy in manila for a tourist visa. Is there a maximum of entrys for one year. What should we say, why we enter thailand?

Thanks

Mike

what you need is a double entry tourist which will give you 60 days on entry and can be extended at local immigration for 30 days 1,900 baht, giving you 90 days on each of the 2 entries, if that is available in Manila i don't know maybe some one else that knows more than me, will be along soon, in the mean time trying a search on here and on a well known search engine.

I am not going into any work permit issues

I would ask the company for documents to help you apply for a non-B visa.

You are not allowed to work on a tourist visa and woud not get a work permit.

"what you need is a double entry tourist "

Probably not the best start for someone who intends to work. Possibly a tourist visa if nothing else is possible in Manilla, but why a double entry for someone with the intention of working?

I think Manila is not the most accommodating. If the girlfriend is a Philippine national, immigrations there have been known to be difficult for those heading to Thailand. Check out link below.

a double entry is as easy to apply for as a single, it gets them in the country. plans change if the job falls through then they are still covered, if the job offer is good than what ever means they used to enter Thailand will not be suitable for a work permit, so they will have to leave the country to sort that out.

The thread asked for a way to stay in Thailand for 5 months i gave them that information.

I posted '' i am not going into any work permit issues'' and i am not, this would have brought this possible problem to their attention, there are plenty of experts on here for that. You seem to be one of those 'experts' so i was correct in my assumption.

There was no information in the post on nationality, so I gave them general information,

They are both European. I know them well.

I would hope that a Single or Double entry Tourist visa could be had easily and then with the employer's help get it changed to a Non B. They are well acquainted with going to Penang ...

In Manila they will need to show tickets out of the country for each entry in order to get a tourist visa.
