Perm Residency Requirements-Education Certification

Featured Replies

Thai Immigration wants, among lots of other documentation (for expert category), "Copy of the applicant’s educational certificate must be officially certified by the national embassy located in Thailand, translated into Thai and certified by the Official of Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Thailand"

The US Embassy (my national embassy, see above) does not do this...."Authentication of Vital Records, Academic, Commercial or Other Credentials Issued in the U.S. U.S. Consular officers are not empowered to authenticate public documents issued in the United States. Such documents include vital records (birth, marriage, death, and divorce), as well as academic, commercial, or other credentials. Consular officers do not have access to the records of the issuing office or the seal of the custodian of these records."

How can I get this requirement for PR per Thai Immigration requirement? OR...am I reading this wrong? Thailand doesn't have a national embassy in its own country. pg

The department of consular affairs is in Bangkok and it is not an embassy. They certify the translation and legalize certain documents.

There is more info on authenticating documents on the US embassy website here: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/notary_authentication.html
