My advice is this; learn at least some basic Thai and confront these people yourself rather than getting your girlfriend to deal with these situations and then you may have a better understanding of what is going on within the environment where you live.

You wake at 9:00, stay in bed for another hour or so ? You have a medical condition or just lazy ?

If those are the only 2 reasons you can think of for staying in bed after waking up I feel sorry for you.

Oh please no sympathy. Get the job done evening before sleep... sometimes upon waking... even an afternoon matinee is very enjoyable. But still in the cot at 10:00, I guess each to his own.
