PM assures NCPO will use powers constrictively

4-12-2557-14-40-45-wpcf_728x404.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha assured today that the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) will exercise its powers in a constructive manner with public interests as paramount.

He also said that he is ready to listen to all divergent opinions but would like to plead with his critics or opponents not to criticize the government too much or to rush the government to do things that they wish.

“I do not reject democracy or the world’s democracy. But today we are democratic Thai style. But (I) believe that from now on we will be democratically stronger although today I cannot force anyone to think like me who want to see the country to move forward; to see what is a cricis, what is an opportunity; what is the problem; to turn a crisis into an opportunity so the country can move forward,” said the prime minister to reporters after presiding over a seminar held by Post Today newspaper at Sofitel Centara Grand Hotel.

He said that his government would do anything which can be done quickly so that it could be accomplished within a year. But for long-term projects, he said his government would just hand them over to the new government.
