The pharmacy's can not make as much money from the local made product, so they prefer to sell the copies that come in from India and China.

This is the reason the Government started to make Sidegra to try & stop the copies from coming in also the reason for the low price. Even Old Sailor knows the correct price now.

I actually found the "recommended" price when i researched the product right from the beginning, but not being so 'thrifty' as yourself, i chose to pay the asked price rather than use an alternative. By the way, what are you paying all those ladies who 'admire' you so much!

Yes but please be very careful,as most of this stuff are cheap copies from India & China. I lived in Cambodia for 5 years.

Lol.... No one counterfeits "Zeagra"..... It is made in Cambodia. It is the Cambodian equivalent of" Sideagra" in Thailand.

There is an extremely low risk of ever buying a counterfeit generic drug. It's like a counterfeit 1 dollar bill......there just are not many around.

That's what I believe.... Unless someone can show me, not tell me otherwise.

The vast majority of medications in Thailand do not legally require a prescription to possess. And I am under the impression that Sidenafil is one of them....

Why would you need a prescription for this when you don't for NSAIDs, muscle relaxers, antibiotics, etc.?

There is no mystery and no reason for rumors or demands for "hard evidence" about whether this or any other drug in Thailand requires a prescription. All medication approved for use in Thailand are given a Thai FDA category. This category can be found online in Mims https://www.mims.com/thailand (though you have to register to use it) or in the hard copy of Mims that any pharmacy . You will also find in Mims the explanation of each of the FDA drug categories.

Some pharmacies in tourist areas have Sidegra behind the counter with a sign prominently displayed saying "Prescription Only" -- I have seen this in Boots on Silom, for example. Whether or not they adhere to this rule, there is no question that it is the rule and violators can face legal consequences.

In the Nana area there have been first hand reports of farangs being shaken down by police for having viagra/Sidegra/Cialis on them without evidence of prescription. (Police who are conveniently lurking near pharmacies that sell these without a script...and needless to say no hassle given to the seller, just the buyer).

I just looked and it is category S (licensed pharmacist and prescription only). So you are correct.

I just checked Arcoxia, as well as a few others I have purchased regularly from many different pharmacies including Boots and Watsons....all category S as well. So even the big chain pharmacies from overseas are not requiring prescriptions.

Like I said, I have had Dr's instruct me to simply buy these things at pharmacies.

Guess I am not surprised though that something in Thailand is technically illegal, yet no enforcement of it seems to exist.

Problem is that it is enforced -- erratically and selectively.

So one has to be careful, or at least know one is taking a calculated risk, if breaking the law in this regard. (And refrain from encouraging others to do so on TV, please).

I am not trying to encourage anyone.... I honestly had no clue that one legally needed a prescription for something like Arxocia (or sidenafil for that manner).

So how does this situation work then? My Dr's tell me to go buy Arxocia or Viagra and I get stopped by the police. They are not in boxes with prescription hospital labels. What do I do? Have them call the hospital to confirm it was prescribed by a Dr? Or directed by a Dr to purchase it?

Every medication has a potentially dangerous side effect.

Paracetamol is far more dangerous. More people end up the the hospital each year due to liver toxicity from Paracetamol than pretty much any other drug on the market.

This is what I don't understand.... Walk into 7-11 and buy 1000 Tylenol tabs.... No problem! Want Viagra? Need a prescription.

Of course, I meant 50 and 100 mg, not gr ! it's not young people ( let's say after 60 years old ) who need sidegra , and people with a bad health and a weak heart really must be careful with viagra-sidegra

I have spoken to several GP Dr.s and a few Urologists and they all say this stuff is safe in the normal amounts for healthy people. Obviously people here and there are going to have adverse side effects from it. But in general, I am convinced it is safe in the prescribed dose for healthy people.

It's the "healthy people" part that is the problem. These drugs tend to be used by older men whose ED is often the direct results of chronic diseases and who are on regular medication for same. That's the concern.

Of course, someone in perfect health, with no underlying cardiovascular or other problems, on no regular medication, and not using any "recreational" drugs (interaction with which can also be an issue) will have no problems. But this is not the usual profile of men with erectile dysfunction.

It is a prescription only drug in most countries for this reason.

I haven't heard of anyone having any difficulty getting a script for this BTW.

A little off topic, but I once asked a young (late 20's) friend of mine who's quite the "party animal" why he wanted to buy some Viagra/Sidegra while he was in Thailand. Apparently some of the "feel good" drugs, like Ecstacy, adversely affect the ability to obtain/maintain an erection. Hence, young partiers find Viagra/Sidegra to be useful.
