Advice Needed To Find Out What Prevents Certain Programs Gaining Online Access...

Featured Replies

Hello and Sawasdee Khrap,

I have to apologise as I've already posted a thread, as I can't access any online applications, using my MS office 2013 pro plus. I can't use the translation option anymore, neither can I insert an online photo, nor access any web pages like Wikipedia, etc when I open a MS office document.

I have to add that I just recently had various problems with the th555 browser and it's still popping up sometimes.

AS I'm always using Google as my default browser, I just found out that I can't open up Windows Explorer anymore, as well. It just shos: "Page cannot be displayed.

I've used properly too many programs to get rid off this nice th 555 virus and can't recall what went wrong. I'd deeply appreciate any useful input to get my genuine program running again, with access to the internet.

Thanks a lot in advance. wai2.gif

Any idea without reformatting and putting all programs on again? If i have to do this, I'll clone the drive with Acronis, which i did with my notebook.

25 minutes and my system is back where it was.

Use "system restore" and select the last known nearest date that you had no issues.

Thanks a lot. Tried that before, but the problem seems to be in my system for longer than any restore changes might allow me.

Unless there is a compelling reason not to, I would suggest a fresh start, properly protecting everything from the start (including your browser), maintaining it with regular updates to OS and applications, and practicing safe browsing behaviour.

Oh and don't use Windows XP biggrin.png

OMG, I'd like to thank you very much for your nice post. Problem solved. Just went to LAN settings, clicked on automatically detect settings and all is back to normal.

First I thought it was a joke. Such a setting causing so much headache.

Thanks a lot. When ever you come to Sisaket, please page me. I buy you a beer and my wife will cook some delicious German food for you.

I've tried almost all and was so close to make a new set up. Cheers- thumbsup.gifwai2.gifthumbsup.gif

P.S. Got my Acronis True Image already running and save my current settings, tomorrow I'll clone my HD and that will never happen again.

I'll bet Gregory's in the car now.

A man, a word. Please page me when you're heading to Isaan.

I can show you my wife's village and more that will surprise you why so many Isaan girls are, where you are.

Might be a great experience how they live, some people might be shocked. Then you might see the country with a different view.

Poverty poor. Left alone by all the governments, if Thaksin's, or guys with guns. Sorry, completely off topic now.

We do have a guestroom and you can also stay a night or two. Again, thanks a lot for your great help!!!!!!!!! Cheers- wai2.gif

That's what I do. Once I have a fresh, clean working installation of windows, I use Acronis to make a disk image.

Worst case scenario, it gets you back to a known position in minutes.
