D-link router pass word lost, what now?

Reset is very easy but you need to know the settings. Your ISP should be able to talk you through it. Emphasis on the word "should".

As MJCM said, give us the model number and we can probably tell you the default login credentials.

DSL, 3G, Cable, Fiber service?

Are there other pieces of equipment in the mix, or is the D-Link the ADSL-2 Modem/Router/WiFi all-in-one?

Some adsl devices can 'request' provider name/pass setup via TR-069 settings.

Otherwise, a call to your ISP should provide you with a new learning experience.

Note: The factory defaults username is admin, and there is no password.

Operating a router in this status wold be pure carelessness thumbsup.gif

So if you have changed and forgot the PW:

Reset to factory settings is the only way I know.

The procedure is described in the manual.

(usually keep a button pressed during power on)

Like described here?:

Hope you have the parameters ready to set it up afterwards whistling.gif

If you have an older DLink router, there's a reset hole and take a paper clip and stick it in there while it's powered up. Then you'll have to go into Windows and put all the info back in including what you want to call it and your password. Do not make it open by not putting in a password.

Good luck :)

Of course, of course the wife knew the password. All is well. Thanks again for trying to help

And it was quicker to ask here?
