TRANG: -- The Meteorological Department has warned small boats from going to sea while rough conditions continue.

On Sunday, strong wind and waves caused a boat to capsize about three nautical miles off Trang province near the end of a fishing tour. Fortunately, all six people on board were rescued safely.

The six all had life vests on and a nearby trawler rushed to pick them up.

"There was strong wind and big waves. They were over two metres high," the tour boat owner Thanapong Kaewsongsaeng said yesterday.

The 'Saen Larn 3' boat is about three metres wide and 15 metres long. Damage to the boat was estimated at about Bt300,000.
