MiclB
OK. So here's a dead falong, maybe American but with the name that detail might change, but step back. RIP, yep. History of drugs, still a second hand rumor, but sounds like a fracked-up lifestyle to me. Over 99% of us don't put ourselves in this situation. Popular Post FangFerang
K-righst -- who knows what happened? Could have been an OD, VIP RIP, tea money mix-up, or plain powder palpitation. The problem is that speculation is primarily fueled by the raw fact that A LOT OF PEOPLE DIE HERE WITHOUT EXPLANATION. Even level-headed people say -- well, who knows? I think it was probably an overdose, given what I read. That doesn't mean I accept what I read was true, it just means if the information was accurate that it is what I think. Keeps TVF busy with hits though!!
car720
Suicide, accidental overdose, chronic abuse, heart condition. That is always the official reasons for dead farangs here. Once in a while they find a burmese scapegoat. And what are you think it should be the reason for dead, smart person !?!? I agree. I had a friend, 34, drop dead in my lounge room. No suspicious circumstances. He had a heart disease. I pray every day that he rests in peace.

I was talking with a Swiss fellow in CM this morning and during the convo he told me that he was having issues with the sudden death of his 39 year old daughter... Her aorta ruptured and she just dropped dead...
Yann55
It must be another apparent suicide. He just could not wait to get to the balcony. I wonder how long it will take the police to rule out homocide? Homocide ? as opposed to what ? heterocide ?
Jim walker
RIP to the deceased and sincere condolences to his family and friends, If the white powder was in a bowl he could have been a weight lifter hands get very sweaty in Thailand lifting weights, very young regardless how his death occurred much to young 34 to die had the whole of his life to live yet and if I was caused via drugs then let this be a warning to others in Thailand nothing is the same quality as at home. Popular Post jaycor
I live in the same complex. He was my neighbour. I came home from lunch and saw police and the coroner van, so I knew something bad happened. Got the story from security and they said it was an OD. I don't make judgment calls, but rest in peace brother.

Suradit69
It must be another apparent suicide. He just could not wait to get to the balcony. I wonder how long it will take the police to rule out homocide? Longer than it takes TV Bar Stool Crime Scene Investigators (BS - CSI) to rule in nefarious Thai involvement in any farang death. Homocide?? Are you implying something about his sexual orientation? Edited December 16, 2014 by Suradit69

Once in a while they find a burmese scapegoat. And what are you think it should be the reason for dead, smart person !?!? Maybe youre right about this guy. I dont know of course. But the police gives us the suicide explanation thru media without an autopsy or investigation everytime. Dont you think we hear too often about farangs bring upon their own death without some sort of assistance here in Bangkok? If you live in Thailand for a while, you do not recognized how many stupid foreigners come here and live there crazy live, some pay that with there live!!! I think we do "recognize how many stupid foreigners come here", we only have to read the TVF boards, the evidence is abundant!

rjcampbe
I guess they can't test the "white powder" because the Thonglor BIB's have used all of the drug test kits to extort money from the expats.

soalbundy
I have a powdery white substance within a few feet of me. It is baking soda. If I dropped dead right now in my condo, what would appear in the press? Sometimes I attend parties with friends too. and at these parties you make two little piles of baking soda, just in case someone wants to bake a cake

Popular Post SanSaiExPat
Been living here more than 2 years now. How many years do I need to become a Bangkok old hand, who knows it all, like you? Although your comment wasn't addressed to me I'll chime in on the subject. I've lived in Thailand on and off for 15 years and I don't think you really get the flavor of the place until you've been here at least 10, but that figure isn't cast in concrete just a guideline. Thailand is a strange and mystical place even to the natives. You'll find your attitude and impressions of the country and people can change dramatically over the fist few years here. After 10 or 15 years you tend to suspend judgement on allot of things you might have been quick come to a hard and fast conclusion on with only a few years under your belt. Good luck to you.

Popular Post John Kane
I like how BKKBobby said it here. There is no question reading these forum comments for even a few days does seem to get redundant. Several of these "old hands" who answer every forum thread seem to spend their whole day sitting by a computer getting the first word in on most new threads - often with the same one note song to sing. It is the same over at BKK Post where a handful of people seem to treat the Post Bag section like their hobby with a goal to get a letter-to-the-editor "published" every day if they can. The limited space keeps that under control. As an amateur media critic with training in how and when to keep my mouth shut as a foreigner in a host country, this is all quite amusing. So, tell me again (and again, and again) what we all are assumed to just know about Thai police and Thai government etc.
