OK, I realize there are only two or three Jews in Thailand, but what the heck, Chanukah is happening here anyway.

Chanukah 2014 lasts for EIGHT NIGHTS (count 'em) starting December 16.

The calender dates very year to year.

And now for some traditional Chanukah music:

Everytime I hear the word Chanukah, I want to say 'godzundheit' because I think someone sneezed.

Not being of the Jewish persuasion myself, but having grown up in NYC with lots of Jewish friends, allow me to say 'Happy Chanukah to you' as well.

Boy, what I wouldn't do for a warm bagel, some cream cheese, and lox right this morning.

Maybe some gefilte fish or pickled herring with a good light caraway rye.

Hell, I'd settle for a pastrami sandwich. Throw in a side of pickle and potato salad.

Yummm...writing this brought back a lot of childhood memories. Thanks.

I too am a NYC born , schooled & raised , I had been doing Pastrami & Corned beef in Phuket , til tourism & local support collapsed , now in Naklua I taught the misses to make Gabilas Style Potato Knishes !

She doesn't think their's enuff NY people or Jewish ex-pats to sell them , we did a great NY Garlic&Dill Pickle too.....My friend David who was a NY & Jewish gave us great review on Trip Advisor ,I even had a Jewish Caraway Rye like Levy's Baked for us , as they advertised in NY , you don't have to be Jewish to Love Levy's !

For Chanukah you want something FRIED.

Because of the OIL.

Either potato latkes for Ashkenazi or jelly doughnuts for Sephardic.

In truth, Chanukah is not an important Jewish holiday.

It was inflated to make American Jewish children not feel so left out during Christmas season.

So ... never mind!
