BANGKOK, Dec 19 -- The new ambassador of Pakistan to Thailand on Friday invited the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Worapong Sanganetra to observe the national defence industry in his country.

The invitation was made during an introductory call by Sohail Khan to Supreme Commander Gen Worapong.

They discussed several issues including joint cooperation between their countries against terrorism and military cooperation, especially about the annual US-Thailand Cobra Gold military exercise, in which Pakistan is an observer.

Mr Khan invited Gen Worapong to officially visit Pakistan and observe national defence industry in his country.

Gen Worapong later told journalists of the warm military cooperation between the two countries as well as peacekeeping in the region, especially in the field of anti-terrorism operations as Pakistan has much experience.

Gen Worapong also thanked the new ambassador of Pakistan for inviting him to observe the national defence industry to create a new cooperation in military technology in future. (MCOT online news)

Errrr maybe not the best time to do the inspection whistling.gif

According to their record in dealing with the Taliban in the Frontier Territories and the involvement of Pakistan's Secret Service they should be the last to be asked about their handling of terrorism.

When was the last time you've been to Dir, Quetta, the Kalash Valley and Peshawar?

What they're doing to Muslims?

At least no deadly attacks on Pakistan's breeding ground for terrorist: the Madrasas.

"... invited the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Worapong Sanganetra to observe the national defence industry in his country."

This is just a blatant attempt by Pakistan to take advantage of the military-controlled Thailand government that has unrestrained and unaccountable access to the nation's treasury to sell Pakistan weapon systems. Maybe another rice for (fill in the weapons systems) deal. All Pakistan has to say to Gen. Prayuth is that it understands and supports what the Junta is doing in Thailand to restore democracy and the general will rush for a deal.

Further evidence that the Thai military are out of their <deleted> minds. Send general to view Pakistan defense when they couldn't protect the 140 children just murdered within their own borders !

Yes - but who murdered the children? The Taliban who are controlled and funded by the Pakistani intelligence services. The police, military and intelligence services are all at odds with one another. A government that allows lynchings, honor killings, punishment rapes, when it suits and where any non moslems have zero rights and can be exterminated like rats.

I have met some really nice Pakistanis but also many who are aggressive, racist bigots who believe violence against all others is not only acceptable but a virtue. Sadly, a lot of the latter were second and third generation UK.

Buying anything from them would require stringent quality checks. But, of course, they are one of the more corrupt regimes so plenty of margin there.
