Its valid for 1 year and says "temporary". Is that normal?

I hear ya. She was a total btch too. Seemed to be going out of her way to make things difficult.

Took three separate trips to the transport office but got there in the end. They should take a look out

the window and have a look at the driving skills of the majority of the population. It seems quite a large

percentage of drivers drive without a licence and possibly because of all the rigmoral involved. I know at least

3 locals that are driving near new pick ups they must have hocked their life for and are driving unlicenced. One

is running like a private taxi service back and forth to town every day. I'm guessing they would near go to prison

if they had an accident. They'd have no insurance so they'd be up for the debt of their own vehicle plus damages

to the other person / persons vehicle not to mention medical expenses of passengers. What happens in these

circumstances? I'm wondering if my full comprehensive insurance covers me if someone in a clapped out old bomb

driving un licenced, uninsured or probably both hits me.

Congrats...your post reminds me that i have to renew my Thai license, which expired over 5 years ago.

As to your question, that's why you have, or should have, full "first class" insurance coverage for your vehicle. Then, you're fully covered for injuries to yourself/passengers and your vehicle's repair or replacement if you're hit by an under or under/un-insured or unlicensed driver.

So you got a license huh?

Pop quiz: when entering a 4-way junction with equal status roads in both directions, what side do you give way to?

:P

Don't even worry about the 8 motorbikes coming from all directions, and make sure you're on the left hand side of the intersection and cut across everyone to turn right, then just barge in and first in best dressed? Thats what I seen anyways :-)

I would have thought give way to the right?
