Oxford 2 - 1 Stevenage

A match full of niggles after some nasty early challenges, especially one that saw Rhys Day subbed off after 5 minutes. Oxford did well to fight for the win against a team set up to spoil the match. A weak referee didn't help - he missed a few fouls and could easily have sent off a few players, mainly Stevenage but Beano was pushing his luck in the first half.

So, another ugly win. Excellent!

Oxford 2 Luton 0

Surprised Toasted hasn't posted a report, however a fantastic night, brilliant atmosphere apparently, one good goal one great goal, a missed pen and a sending off.

Crowd trouble, a cavalry charge of horses and a crowd of over 10,600 for a Conference game, eat your heart out premiership budgets in the Zillions.

Wrexham 0 - 1 Oxford

A Constable header wins it. It's the first time we've beaten Wrexham on their patch.

We really are seeing a new Oxford here. From Kelvin Thomas down through Chris Wilder to the players, there seems to be a winning mentality that has been missing so often in the past.

Oxford 4 - 0 Eastbourne

A super first half display to be three up. However, Eastbourne had their chances and contrived to miss an open goal from three yards. A lacklustre second half display saw us score a fourth but Eastbourne could have easily have had a few. We were lucky to keep a record sixth consecutive clean sheet.

Wilder laid into the team at the end of the game for the poor second half showing and indeed we'll need to be much better away to Mansfield on Tuesday.

Oxford 3 - 1 Crawley

Another great night at the Kassam Stadium. What could have been a lacklustre evening was enlivened by some of the worst refereeing we've had for quite some time. A laughable decision allowed Jefferson Louis to bring the score back to 1-1 from a free kick. His Adebayoresque celebration enraged the crowd. We played well in the second half and deservedly won quite comfortably.

Interestingly, both full backs scored - probably a long while since that last happened. (And Luton lost again).

Away to Barrow next with revenge for the opening game of last season on the mind.

Wow, Harford's gone? Worth having a dig at the Luton fans on 606 methinks! :)

Kinniburgh's goal was a level or 5 above the normal BSP fare. A long closely controlled dribble forcing the defence to back off and then a sand wedge chip over a goalie who was still in his six-yard box. It had fanatastic technique and vision. On the Oxford official website they're offering 14 days free use of 'Yellow World" so you can see the goal on there if you fancy. Alternatively, "Deddington Steve" posts highlights on Youtube after they've been shown on local TV.

Worth checking out.

Good info Toasty, I didn't know about Deddington Steve.

However have I got the goals mixed up? I thought Kinniburghs goal was a free kick, powerful and burst the net, it was a bit confusing, I 'listened', on the radio and the boy was behaving in his normal manner.

I will have a look on YouTube

Yeah, watching the highlights, Chapman's free kick stands out more than Kinniburgh's chip as we don't see his dribble beforehand and the free kick was certainly more dramatic. But Kinniburgh's goal was more skillful. Hey ho, who cares - two great goals and we are top of the league!

Barrow 1 - 1 Oxford

A good deal better than last season's 3-0 reverse, but the three points eluded us despite dominating the second half. Turley didn't get to make his first appearance of the season. Our lead at the top is down to 6 points.

Oxford 5 - 0 Grays

A very comfortable win with Constable and Midson netting twice each and Cook picking up another. An excellent performance against a Grays team who played some neat football. With more fire power up front and a new back line they'd be very strong. At times we played the ball around very nicely and opened them up with lovely pace and movement that would be more suited to the second or even first division. Over 6000 in the crowd and we're 9 points clear at the top.

York away next and they haven't lost at home this season - immoveable object meets irresistable force - should be good.
