However in all honesty how many people married a Thai that wasn't either ever in the game or looking for a way out of poverty.

My wife is an educated Thai (Chinese) from a decent family in Phuket, (Me 52, her 37).. she wasn't a sex-trade worker as far as I know..

Here's your useless trivia for the day: before I met her in 2007, she had been in a sexual affair with one Thai women in particular for several years, I know because she told me - her former lover tried to break us up 8 years ago. It's not my job to speculate on why about 50% of farang seek out from the 3% of Thai women ( sex-trade workers) for a relationship. Up to them

If I was living in Thailand in 2006, I may have gone for a bar girl myself, as I liked them, liked partying, and am a little high risk myself at times..at least I was in the past. Instead i just dallied with them, all the while looking for an educated Thai woman, thinking they may be less likely to rip you off..

My problem was I was living and working in Canada, and just coming to Thailand for 3 months a year..I didn't figure a bar girl would wait 8-9 months for me to return, or be able to get a visitors visa to come all the way to Canada to get laid.. LOL
