Crime Hungarian Tourist Assaulted After Failing to Pay Bar & Entertainment Bills in Pattaya
Picture courtesy of SiamChon. A Hungarian tourist was injured in an altercation near Pattaya Beach after allegedly refusing to pay for drinks, cannabis, and entertainment provided by a transgender companion. The incident occurred at 00:15 on 30 April, near Soi Pattaya Beach 12, in the Nong Prue sub-district of Bang Lamung, Chonburi province. Police Lieutenant Chaowalit Suwanmanee, deputy inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, responded to the call along with officers from the Tourist Police and volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation. At the scene, the 53-year-old Hungarian man, name not disclosed, was found with a laceration on the left side of his head and ear, bleeding heavily. Rescue personnel administered first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital. The suspected assailants had fled the scene prior to the arrival of authorities. Staff from the cannabis and cocktail shop where the incident occurred presented a drink bill totalling 1,570 baht as evidence and expressed frustration with the tourist’s behaviour. According to witnesses, the man had consumed both cannabis and alcoholic beverages at the venue before inviting a transgender woman from the beach to join him. However, when the venue closed, the tourist was allegedly unable or unwilling to pay either the bill or the entertainment fee owed to the companion. This led to a heated dispute. The companion reportedly called in friends to help resolve the situation, which quickly escalated into physical violence. Staff at the venue intervened to break up the altercation, preventing more serious injuries. Following treatment, the Hungarian man will be taken in for questioning by Pattaya police. He claimed he intended to pay the bill but was unable to do so due to a problem with his mobile phone. If he chooses to press charges regarding the assault, investigators will attempt to identify and locate the perpetrators for legal action. Adapted by Asean Now from SiamChon 2025-04-30. -

Immigration Final Three Uyghurs Find Freedom in Canada after Decade of Detention in Thailand
So wrong... where did you get this info? Asylum seekers are covered under the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which provides temporary health insurance until they qualify for provincial or territorial health coverage. The IFHP includes:Medavie BCWikipedia Basic medical services such as doctor visits and hospital care Prescription medications Emergency dental and vision care Pre- and post-natal care Coverage begins upon issuance of an eligibility document and continues until the claimant withdraws their claim, leaves Canada, or transitions to provincial health insurance after a positive decision. Medavie BC 💰 Financial Assistance Asylum seekers may apply for provincial or territorial social assistance, similar to other residents in need. The amount and eligibility criteria vary by province. For example, in Ontario, a single individual might receive approximately $733 per month. Asylum seekers get more per month than many canadians get for their retirements. this is my situation: Current Rates: As of early 2025, the maximum monthly OAS payment is approximately $727.67 for individuals aged 65 to 74. With 20 years of residency, you'd receive about half of this amount, roughly $363.84 per month.
