Costas, 1917-2014.

Mr. Costas, 97, of Athens, Greece, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, after losing his battle in the 2014 poster of the year parody of elections. (POTY)

I can’t really understand why he was taken away from us, and I thought about this all night because I want to know why someone so bright and happy is no longer here with us.

Costas was very bright, kind, giving, hansum and special to everyone here.

I know we all have great memories of times he made us laugh, made us want to strangle him or helped us with his obnoxious advices.

I think these are the best things to remember about him.

I grew up with Costas, in fact we were inseparable throughout his short life and always admired his personality, his humour, respect and consideration for other people.

Even his last words were an example of his kindness……. he whispered to me;

My friend, make sure the other 3 competitors suffer, on TVF, for the rest of their lives.

For the past 2 weeks he fought a noble battle against many unworthy competitors.

He fought with braveness and courage in his campaign but at the end he had to succumb to the will of the NOT so bright voters.

Except the ones who voted for him.

He confined to me that he was grateful to them and especially to Gecko, his campaign manager and his wife that never left his side, encouraging him by saying;

My love, stop playing on that stupid Thai Visa and go and do some cleaning.

But she joined TV, just to vote for…… David …….. and now she can’t get away from it.

What a treasure she is…..now the coast is clear I will take the courage and express my love and affection to her.

But again he made another effort in his dying moments and whispered to me once more;

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the people that didn’t vote for me, and may their arms be too short to scratch.

This was the Great man my friends.

Costas, you will be missed but we will always remember you.

Especially me when I’m in bed with your wife.

Grieve for Costas, dearest members………… but do not despair.

I’m taking over, not only his wife but also his account on TVF.

Like the Phoenix rising from his ashes, I will be on TVF, the whole of 2015 and beyond, to torment you, for not voting for him.

Rejoice. Happy days are coming.

Ps. If I hear answers like, “Good riddance” or “No, you will not be missed”, you will have to deal with me. Respec the Great man.

We are planning to build a temple in the memory of this great man.

It will be named Wat Costas, and his funny bone will be enshrined here.

He was indeed a fine man. I never met him yet I felt a bond with this jovial, Zorba look alike. Did he leave the badgers to Mr. Toad? I would imagine so. We need lots of plates to smash at the funeral plus gallons of Retzina and Raki. I am sure he left instructions that no one leaves standing and there can be no sadness.

His body will probably be left to science but his spirit will live on, such a sense of humour, I didn't know the Greeks had evolved to that degree!

I shall float a bottle of ouzo (empty) into the river Chao Phraya and hope it finds its way to Crete or Athens. I also heard that he left explicit instructions that the expenses for his funeral should be equally split between the other candidates, the remainder can be paid by EU, his parting shot at them.

His headstone will read,

Costas the Greek, a man of men.

Riches beyond measure and wives he had ten.

Always content, he was never a cadger,

he loves his family, especially the badger.

A sainthood is coming,

or so they say,

Saint Costas of Greece

May he rest in peace.

Dear, dead Costas, someone had to be on the side of Saint David48.

I have to admit it was close between you and he who to vote for, but a Greek vs a Saint. Well, there was only one winner.
