I am a new working expat in Thailand from US and I was wondering about the rules of having my houshold items shipped, if anyone has done so and anything I should be aware of?

Also if any infomation on having two dogs sent over? any one who has infomration on best routes and suggestions that would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

It all depends upon the Customs agent that is assigned to your shipment. Tea money may or may not be required since the Customs laws are like the traffic laws in Thailand, it is all dependent upon who stops you and for what, the law is not the problem, it is the uneven enforcement that is the problem

If you are working for an International Company they should have a department that should handle it for you . If you have been hired locally then it is up to you to make the arrangements

Next to owning property in Thailand, these Customs questions are probably the most controversial ones posted here, since everyones experience is different. Some pay nothing, others pay a small fortune
