BANGKOK: -- The broadcasting committee of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission will meet on Monday to consider the applications for licence to operate public service digital television as requested by the office of the secretary-general of the House of Representatives.

Ms Supinya Klangnarong, a member of the broadcasting committee, said Saturday that the committee would consider the rights of being the licencee of the office of the secretary-general of the House before pondering the suitability of the office to be the operator of the licence.

She admitted that she was worried some of the conditions set by the secretary-general’s office of the House that the public service TV must be impartial in both the management and the content and that the service is meant for the benefit of the consumers.

The public service digital TV’s main duty is to disseminate information to promote good understanding between the government and the people on one hand and the parliament and the people on the other hand.
