40" Television. How much at Tesco Lotus

Myself and the wife are coming into Thailand in February and when we visit her family I would like to buy a new television for them.

The only near by large store is a Tesco Lotus in the nearest town (on our way from udon thani airport to their village).

How much can I expect to pay for a 40" led Television ?

Here in the Uk the prices of televisions have come down a lot and I can by a 40" for £200ish (10k baht) here in the Uk.

We don't need a smart TV as there internet through an sat dish is crap. Just a bog basic Led will be fine.

If you can order online you will likely get a better deal than locking yourself into a single vendor.

10K Baht will get you a non-brand unit, 12K will get you something with a brand:

Promotions literally very day by day / week by week, so no real point researching too heavily until Feb when you're closer to arriving I guess- the prices/options will surely change by then.

Keep an eye on http://www.tescolotus.com/en/promotion There is a 32" tv on there for 7,990 at the moment.

Prices have come down a lot. Got a Samsung 32" Smart TV for 11K and a Samsung 40" Series 5 for 15k at HomePro a few months ago so Tesco should have something available in that price range. Samsung are good if you also want to play just about anything off a portable hard disk or USB flash drive, otherwise brands like TCL, Haier and Hisense are big time Chinese brands that sell for less.

Unlikely that link will work for the OP, as it uses geo-IP location to send you to your country site.... @OP you could try it using hola.org and forcing the country to Thailand if that link sends you to the UK site.

Udon Thani also has Homepro and Makro both of which sell Samsung Tv 32@ from 7900 baht.

Homepro were competitive on TV prices a couple of years ago, but it's only on rare promotions that they have good prices now:
