I am pretty sure you can't "register" your marriage at the embassy. What they used to do (details were on the previous website, not any more) was state that they could deposit your original marriage certificate to the GRO in the UK where a copy would be available at any time in the future, i.e. as if you had married there. Even then I don't think the marriage is in fact "registered" as such. I couldn't see any benefit in doing this so didn't bother. As they don't mention it on the current website no even sure they still offer the service.

No facility to register a marriage at the British Embassy any more.

Suggest you get translations of the certificate and registration as you may need these in the UK later.

My company pension scheme also required a translation of my wife's birth certificate.
