I guess, when you have tried to push the amnesty bill reason of your innocent fugitive brother, the democracy was in its heyday. Or, as he memorably put it several years ago, "Democracy is not our Aim !" in fact Thaskin's vote was never counted, the over 15 million of Thais that voted PT and the 13 million that voted for a PT MP are. Democracy died last year, and this charade only reinforces this simple fact.

Popular Post Thailand
She said it, she is right.Just a little late with the call, it happened when uniforms took control. For some reason the Junta seem to think that removing Yingluck etc is the end of opposition for them and the Democrats, elites etc. More likely they are stirring up an onslaught when the time comes for a real election which of course they will avoid for as long as possible. The one they have promised will likely be similar to the current stacked decks, but the time will come. It's what eventually happens when the ordinary persons rights are abused, they kick back.

Popular Post lewy67
At least in Thailand you can reconcile yourself with the fact that if you are ever in a position to control the most guns you can overthrow the government, grant yourself an amnesty, write your own rules/constitution as you please, set up a sham legislature and persecute/prosecute your enemies at will. And you'll always get away with it and do what you want if you have the most guns. There'd be plenty in green who hope that that worm doesn't turn.
Popular Post thesetat2013
I makes perfect sense to prohibit YL from making a public speech. As she has failed too prove herself inculpable in showing her innocence the only thing she could do in front of a camera is incite the hard core ptp to feel sympathy for her and believe her crocodile tears. Until she truly shows proof of her innocence which I doubt she can really do then she just be held accountable for what she had done to the country. Instilling democracy was not one of them because a vote does not give you the right to think you are above the law. And impeachment is the legal way of removing her from doing it again. I just hope that if she benefited from that scheme that she is tried and convicted criminally so she can never be in politics again and with any luck Thailand can recoup some of the money its lost in that scheme

slapout
Only the junta can hold a press conference. Her freedom of speech has been denied. Shame on this junta for being so one sided with one voice. And not the voice of the people. this womans rational speech was denied from the moment of the egg being fertilized in her mothers womb. she apparently has had virtually every word/sentence she has uttered about governing, written by others and she has the intelligence/schooling required to read the scripts. of course there have been several times she managed to be screw this system up, in her presentation. she needs to accept that she should look for a different line of work, bless her heart. yingluck reminds me of another beautiful girl i knew years ago., she just could not handle the stress of holding a responsible position, nor could she assimulate into the general social order. her parents finally commited her to a facility whose personal were trained to handle those so afflicted. now yingluck does not appear to be this bad off but she has not shown any expertise in holding any responsible position nor discharging its required duties, that i am aware of.
