Multiple non-imm o (wedding) in Vientiane - confused / Savannakhet questions

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm a bit confused... On the website of the Thai consulate in Vientiane, they say that a multiple non-imm is possible for residents only. What does that mean ? As I have the yellow tambien baan, am i considered as a resident ?

Then if I go to Savannakhet, can i enter with a car ? Probably yes (what i've seen on here) but is it worth it. I would then like to go to Luang Prabang and then back in Thailand through Huai Kon (possible?) or drive up to Chiang Khong (possible?) as i live in Chiang Mai.

Thanks for any answers, cheers

Vientiane will not do a multiple entry non-o visa. Savannakhet is the only choice you have.

You can take a car into to Laos but you need a passport for it and the original green book.

For just a trip across the border to get a visa it is no worth the trouble.

How to get the passport ?

Ubonjoe, thanks for the answer. I love to drive and thought could have a drive in laos back up to Chiang kong or saen... But looks complicated and expensive compared to a go and return by bus. Guess will do whatever is needed so I can stand the bus journey. Driver, at the next stop, where is the closest bar? Pick me there when you leave 555

You could fly to Udon Thani from CM and get a bus from there to Savannakhet.

There are also flights to Khon Kaen from CM. See: http://www.kanairlines.com/main/flight-schedule/
