Something I have never seen over here, and I can not see one being over here for some time to come, with the biggest field around here, being about 50 rie or in english,20 acar, too big a investment, also I would say the read out would be in english, again a problem, but that could be overcome.

E- bay has them, manily in the usa or alibaba, import tax a problem.

A good idea ,good luck in finding one.

Ps. Was going to ask some time ago,how did the direct drill maize do compared to conventionally drilled maize.

Ps. Was going to ask some time ago,how did the direct drill maize do compared to conventionally drilled maize.

Ended up going 700kg/rai which i was happy with for the second crop(august=december)

Have a little work to do on the closing side of the disc seeder, neat furrow and seed placement just need to get the dirt back over before the press wheel.

Spray and direct drill is the only way for me now, alot more effiecient and enables that second crop.

Also alot more comfortable driving the harvester on flat ground.

Just need to be more accurate when spraying, gps will also help with seeding as very hard to see your lines with little soil disturbance.

Will keep looking, another on the wish list is a moisture meter. When we sold our corn we were charged for 21 percent moisture.some direct headed and some sun dried as kernals for 1 week but still the same moisture.bah.gif

Lastly on the gps the price has come down heaps compared to when first on the market,at around 25-30000 baht and its paid for by diesel savings spraying versus ploughing.thumbsup.gif .

www.thaimeter.com/Ket. Found this company that sells moisture meaters,23.000 bart a kett mosture meater.

A good idea not only for selling the grain, but when to harvest, I have seen combines go into a field of maize drive 200 meters then go back home ,far too wet ,combine could not thrash the cobs .would also put a lot of grain out the back of the combine.

What I can remember we use to store grain at 15 % moisture, any more the heap would heat up and spoll the grain, what it is here I do not know, but when we use to sell maize it was a lot more that, and we still got the standard price, did say once to the misses," can not send this crop to wet" ,she said " any dryer and we will lose money ",she sent it ,and we got the standard price ,no reductions.

Thanks KS,

Will have to get hold of their matrix scale,

Being involved in the grain industry for 20 years in aust,

The receipt i got had percentage starting at zero which we all no is wrong,as say 14/18 would be acceptable for good moisture and increments back off that,

So why do they lie and say 8,40 baht a kilo when noone will ever achieve it

Will get to the bottom of it before next year,

Trialing seed in bags compared to an ibc container, although looks like the ants have made their way intoibc already,-unts. ,
