CDC asked media reform committee to decide on the fate of telecoms regulator

BANGKOK, 8 February 2015 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Committee has suggested that the committee in charge of media reform should decide whether the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission should remain active or be dissolved.

CDC member Paiboon Nititawan said that the charter drafters have already forwarded all issues related to the NBTC to the media reform committee to work on.

Mr. Paiboon said that the committee will also be deciding whether the NBTC law should be amended in any way, with two CDC members set to take part in the deliberation.

He added that the CDC will not hold any meetings during February 9 and 10 in order to allow its members who also serve at the National Reform Council to work with their respective committees in proposing all reform ideas.

Mr. Paiboon went on to say that he will join the political reform committee to conclude all proposals, which are to be completed by February 13.

This what really irks some people. It's like asking myself for permission to take a dump. Swift action is anathema to every government, but Thais have elevated obtuseness and obfuscation almost to an art form (but it;'s a shame no one who lacks 'Thainess" can appreciate it).

There are and will continue to be serious conflicts of interest in the governing body, pre-coup, mid-coup and post-coup.

Here comes the old boss, same as the old bosses (same-same...but different).

Even English plurals cannot address this accurately. He/they/we decided that me/us/them need to talk to those/us/me about what she/they/us should think.

NBTC have been engaged in running battles with CAT and TOT ever since NBTC's inception, over attempts of these two telecom organisations to get their hands on the loot. If NBTC goes a lot of French champagne will be drunk on Chaeng Wattana road
