Syrian army will continue fighting to restore all of Syria: minister

DAMASCUS, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Syria's Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi stressed Sunday that the Syrian army will continue fighting untill all of Syria has been restored and remains united.

Al-Zoubi's remarks came during a seminar held Sunday in the Ministry of Information, during which he added that the war on Syria aims to split it.

The minister added "I want to assure you we will continue fighting until we restore all of Syria's territories, including the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights."

He also stressed that Syria will remain united and the government will remove separatists, referring to the Kurds in northern Syria as they have created a separate region.

"From the Kurds in northern Syria till Daraa in southern Syria, either you accept to be Syrians abiding by Syrian law and leadership or you are out, even if fight for a hundred years," Al-Zoubi remarked.

Meanwhile, the minister noted that his words are "in unison and harmony and do not contradict" with the Syrian government's efforts in reaching a political solution to the protracted conflict.

I feel sorry for the poor Syrian Sunni, they face execution whichever side they take: Forgive the government or support the revolution.

A speech to make N. Korea proud.

Assad doesn't even control all of greater Damascus, never mind further afield.

Syria as it used to be is history.

Running away seems like the most reasonable course of action as far as most civilians go.

empty words from a failing regime!

Syria's strategy is to allow ISIL to occupy eastern Syria and help destroy Syrian rebels there where Asaad was losing ground. Meanwhile Asaad attacks rebels from the west whose supply lines to the East are disrupted by ISIL. Hardly an effective approach to unity but does stall further advances by rebels on Damascus. The danger though is when ISIL will turn on Asaad for the rest of the country if it goes unchallenged by the rest of the Arab countries and the West.

Iran and Hezbollah are fighting on Assad's side against isis and Syrian rebel forces, No connection between ISIS and Syrian rebels. America with its Arab allies are telling Assad where and when they will bomb isis. I don't think they are bombing Syrian rebels!

ISIS are fighting all of the above and the Al Nusra front who are al Qaeda but thought to be more moderate?

Syrian strategy is to kill anyone who who is fighting against the Assad regime. No to have ISIS (not ISIL) occupy any part of Syria by way of a strategic manoeuvre.
