I am planing to come to Thailand next month for about 3 weeks.I will arrive in Bangkok from Dublin and would like to see as much of the country as I can in that time.I would like to spend few days in Bangkok, and then maybe go to Phuket or somewhere see beaches, and then I going to go to Chaiyaphum to meet lady there.Would also like to see Chang main as told this is second largest city there and very nice.

Any information on where to stay in Bangkok and what to see would be welcomed .Also where should I go to beach ares Phuket or where would you advise and where to stay.

This be my first time to go anywhere in Asia,.

Why not go to Chaiyaphum first ... then if you hit it of with your lady friend you can travel with her

Pretty confident she will no where to go

she only has 7 free days

Don't mean to be rude, but you should do some research first before asking very general questions like this. Get a copy of Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, or whatever. Read travelfish's website. Then comeback here with more detailed questions. Like: I've decided I want to visit Phuket for 5 nights. I'm trying to decide between Kamala and Karon. Can anybody help? I'm a XX year old man, my budget is XX $'s and I'm interested (or not interested) in the nightlife. This would allow us to help you out a bunch!

There's just sooooo much to do and see in Thailand, that you need to be a bit more specific. I've been here 15 years and still haven't seen many things I'd like to.

well i am 65 years old, want to spend few days in Bangkok and then travel to a nice beach area for a week.was thinking of a buget of around 60 euros a day

In Bangkok, there are hundreds of hotels to choose from. I'd recommend one near the skytrain...or the subway. Makes it so much easier to get around. I love taking an AC taxi better than the mass transit, but traffic in Bangkok can be really bad. You're generally better off using the mass transit as much/far as you can. Then taxi from there.

There is a hotel that's actually part of the shopping mall MBK. It's an OK mall, but the mall is directly connected to the skytrain. Really convenient and a bit closer to the Grand Palace, etc. Trip Advisor is a great site to help you out. As is booking.com. If you use booking.com, please use the link at the top of this page for your bookings. Our website is free to use, so the owner makes a bit from these links. Costs you nothing more to do so. Here's the hotel, pretty close to your budget:

Chiang Mai is a great city. If you know this lady, why not have her meet you there? Or, meet you in Bangkok, then fly up together? If you've never been to her home town, I'm not sure it'd be a great place for you considering your goals - seeing as much of Thailand as possible in a 3 week time frame. I could burn a month in and around CM easily. Same with Phuket. You'll need to budget your time wisely.

The more "famous" beaches are on Phuket island, in and around Samui, or even Koh Chang or Koh Samet. Each has something different to offer.

If you go to Phuket, I recommend Karon beach area. Fine beach with good restaurants, enough nightlife to enjoy some drinks. Big Buddha can be seen up on the hill and I think it is an impressive site while swimming. Go to patong by taxi for a night or stay there a few days if you want noise and iffy nightlife.

Decide if you want beaches and swimming or Chiang Mai up north. Different topography. You can do the whirl wind tour and spend a lot of your time traveling or you can relax more and see less things. Up to you.

From Bangkok, it is easy bus down to Pattaya which you might like because it is easy to walk around. Plenty of English pubs there and massages and night life and that can be a good getaway for a week. Grab a tour guide and go to Nong Nooch garden. can't really swim in Pattaya beach water so take a boat out to Ko Larn island.

There are easy flights from Pattaya Utapao airport out to Phuket. And from Phuket you can fly back to Bangkok and I suggest you might want to end your trip with a few days in Bangkok. that way you are near the airport and have less traveling to do on your last day.
