Hat let crossing, how many days on return?

Featured Replies

Hi respected TV members.

My tourist visa allows me to stay in TH until tomorrow.

I live in Buriram and instead of doing the visa run to o'smach border like before, i decided to go to Sihanoukville via the Hat lek border to spend a few days in Cambodia and come back to LOS with a 30 days Thai visa.

I arrived in Trat this lunchtime and visiting a few 'travel agencies' i have trouble getting reliable info about the Thai visa i will be granted returning into the Kingdom... 15 days or 30 days??

This seems to be changing all the time, does anybody knows??

What are my options if i want 30 days?

Thanks.

If you dont qualify for the 30 days ( not G7 country)

go to PP and fly back

30 days on arrival

end of 29 day get an exteniosn for another 30 days 1,900 baht

or go get a new tourist visa in PP takes 4 days or use an agent an get it in overnight or 2 or 3

Thank you Richard.

I have a good one here, i am sitting in the guest house in Trat, i asked the young lady at the next table about Cambodia.

She is Belgian, she comes back from Cambodia today, was charged 30+7 dollars for the Cambo visa at Hat lek and got 14 days on the thai visa on the way back.

Here's the biggie, at the same table there is an italian man, he was given a 30 days Thai visa!! I saw the passports.

They crossed the same day...

On my side, i drove to Trat Immigration to ask and the officer said 30 days...

I think i will pay 1900 THB and extend my visa in Trat and skip Cambo...

You could do a Thai tourist visa in PP and thereby avoid the dreaded in/out stamp and the counting of your exemption stamps. Just an idea, I dont know how many stamps you already got. It might be worth a thought.

OK Richard, understood.

I am surprised, i thought all EEC members would be treated the same. But obviously not...
