Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Doing a bit of football on Sunday after work as the Thai football season is finally back :D Plan A was do a 2nd division match in Bangkok - probably Rachaburi RBAC v Dome at 4 then Osotspa v Suphanburi at the Rajamangala Stadium at 8pm. BUT... I'm tempted to head to Nakhon Ratchasima v Muang Thong United if feasible, as I think they'll be quite a few spectators there, 20,000 upwards!

If I got to Mo Chit Bus Terminal at 2:30pm, would that be sufficient time to get to Nakhon Ratchasima by bus and make the kick off at 7pm? The other thing is I've not found much in the way of places to stay, yeah I have done a bit of research! I fancy spending Monday there as its one of my two days off, anyone recommend somewhere to stop (I don't really want to pay more than 500 baht!)

Ta!

The journey is usually 3 ish hours however on a Sunday the traffic might suck although from experience the traffic is worse coming into Bkk on a Sunday and out of Bkk on a Friday. If you are on the 2.30 bus you could be OK, the only thing is the Korat ground is approx 5kms out of town and not in the city centre.

As for places to stay if you google 'The George and Dragon Korat' there are 2 or 3 places literally next door to the bar that are around 500 baht and are perfectly acceptable.

Good luck.
