I have traveled via Mumbai and to Mumbai at least 20 times. I once left my phone at security, I came back 10 mins later and it was returned to me. A fool and him money are easily parted

I wouldn't stopover / transfer in Mumbai even if my life depended on it. Avoid at all costs.

While the security-check at BOM or DEL is both slow and careful, one can understand that they do have political/terrorist problems to contend with, like many of the Middle-Eastern potential-stopover countries too.

IME (4 transfers since Mumbai's new terminal-2 opened a year ago) it is a BIG improvement on the previous experience, and is fully up to the standard at DEL, so there is no-longer any reason to avoid transferring via Mumbai.

Sorry to drift off-topic, which is the Indian Customs being light-fingered, something which doesn't affect transfer-passengers, but I thought it needed saying, as some people still aren't aware that Mumbai's new international-terminal is now in-use. wai2.gif

Anyone steals my money they can <deleted> off.

Surely this is a wind up? I've transited there before and had no problems with this sort of thing.
