Songtaws / Tuk tuk and Wing 41 shortcut

Featured Replies

Just curious, but does anyone know if Songtaws and/or tuk tuks use the route though Wing 41 to get from Nimmanhaemin to Central Airport Mall and CNX, and back again?

I don't think tuk-tuks can go through. I was taken the long way around last week to get to Home Pro.

I've never seen either do it. Perhaps they don't qualify for the "permission sticker" you need to purchase?

Yeah, I really don't remember seeing any either when I go though the base, but I wasn't sure. I was just thinking that if they're force to navigate the traffic around Maharaj/Sripat, and then double back along the canel to get the the airport, then I'm wondering how much more the fares would end up being. Just trying to find some information for a friend.

They are not permitted to get a sticker as are taxis.

^^ Dont believe that to be fact..

I have had people visit me and use a hotel out near the end of Suthep rd.. Every time I have met them at the airport and if I am using a MBike put them in a taxi with the hotel card.. Every time they have gone through wing while I had to quickly go round the moat and suthep rd way. Thats not a one off but a handful of times.

So based on that airport taxis / meter taxis can and do use it.

Airport taxis definitely can use it. I've done it dozens of times. I've never taken the meter taxis.
