orkid
I've been trying to find really good apple cider vinegar like Bragg's. The closest I've found at Rimping and Tops is something called Nature's Best (or something similar) in a glass bottle with a yellow label. The bottle reads "raw" and "unfiltered" but it looks filtered to me - almost as clear as the cheap stuff. So my question is: does anyone know where to buy "the good stuff" - cloudy with all the natural gunk left in. Many thanks!
hml367
I have purchased both of these brands at Tops and Rim Ping. The only Tops I have used is the one in Central Airport Plaza. Rim Ping I have seen these at all but the branch by the river. One is from the USA (Braggs) and the other is from Thailand, priced accordingly. DaamNaam
The healthy mate one is identical to Braggs.

My apologies.... the Healthy Mate is manufactured in New Zealand. There is a big difference in price. Personally, I prefer Bragg's.
Ulysses G.
Unless something has changed recently, Bragg's is available at a bunch of places in Chiang Mai - like Kasem's and Rimping - and Healthy Mate is only slightly cheaper.
orkid
Hmm, I've been looking hard for the Bragg's at the places mentioned… are they kept in a different location in-store than the Healthy Mate's? I just noticed a new batch of Healthy Mate's came in at the Tops Airport Plaza and they are much clearer with hardly any "mother". Very different from the Healthy Mate's I bought one month ago. Kasem's I haven't tried yet. Will do.

Actually, yes. At least they were last time I looked at Rimping, a number of months ago. Braggs was with all the other vinegars and Healthy Mate was on display at the end of the shelves not too far away.

Healthy Mate (bottled in Thailand) is actually manufactured by Coral Tree Organic Orchards in New Zealand. http://www.coraltree.co.nz/ Yes it is raw unfiltered organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the lumpy bits in the bottom. I bought some at Foodland and also at Villa when I was in BKK at 369 baht for 965 ml.
lannarebirth
I've purchased Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar at the little health food store next to Warm Up in the past.

orkid
If you check out the latest shipment of Healthy Mates at airport plaza Tops it is practically clear with little to no sediment, hence my quest for Bragg's. Perhaps the next shipment of HM will be better…

Ulysses G.
I used it for healthy salad dressing with olive oil, but I mixed it with Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar, because it is much cheaper.

I can understand the taste difference but is it different when used for health?

I was in Kasham's (Sorry about the spelling) store in the Worrorot area today and she was recommending it to me. I had heard years ago a table spoon a day was good for you. orkid
I find it really helps calm the digestion when things are gurgling. Also I've had a couple of gall stones attacks which apple cider vinegar quickly halted. Some use it as prevention for gall stone attacks. I expect regular vinegar would do the same but prefer my stuff as unprocessed as possible (not to mention it is way better tasting). There's lots of reading to be done both skeptical and fanatical on many a forum… try http://www.curezone.org
just_Elaine
I have used the "mother" to make vinegar from leftover wine that we did not finish (but not here in Thailand where wine is too expensive). I had a crock that was partially covered with cheesecloth and would dump in leftover wine: some tasted good, some not.... Oh, and I think I saw it somewhere in the last couple of weeks, but I cannot remember where. If I see it, I will post again. Its funny folks cringe when you spend say 50 bucks on health food products that can last months but think nothing of blowing the same about on a few bottles of plonk and a 2 day hangover. The mind boggles.
