Using my phone as a wifi hotspot

Hi all,

I need to somehow get internet on my laptop whilst I am out and about. I was thinking maybe using my phone as a wifi hotspot. I am rubbish with technology!

Can anyone suggest the best way of doing this?

real easy with Android ,

go to settings ,- wireless & networks-More - portable hotspot

that should get you going

Buy an aircard (usb stick with simcard in it). I got one from AIS works fine.

Hmmm. I have DTAC pay as you go sim at the moment. Can I pay for internet on that when I don't have a contract?

Yes, of course.... Go load extra money on your phone and call Dtac and tell them you want a 3g Internet package added.

You can do it on your mobile. Dtac has add on wifi/3g/4g packages.

Thanks to Smartphone-tethering, the times of USB-Modems are actually over. that is why on lazada you can get them for 600 Baht nowadays.....

When you use your phone as a wifi hotspot and don't have good security, you are opening the door for virusses on your phone.

they do have anti-virus/security apps for smartphones. Like Norton.,etc.

Yes, but most people don't have them installed. I am not a great fan of Norton anyhow, it doen't cath everything.
