Tropical storm expected to arrive in Surin soon

SURIN, 23 February 2015 (NNT) - The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has warned residents of the northeastern province of Surin that a tropical storm is forecast to arrive in summer.

The DDPM regional office in Surin has revealed that the province could be affected by the storm, which is expected to bring hail and thundershowers to many areas.

Residents were told to be cautious when leaving their homes. They were also urged to follow updates on the weather forecast and make sure their homes and other properties are structurally sound.

The DDPM has encouraged locals to call the 1784 hotline for emergency assistance. The agency is prepared to dispatch an emergency mobile unit to assist those affected by the storm.

?? "in summer"

Seems to be some kind of special translation whistling.gif

Guess its soon to be expected.

Would be consistent with the weather pattern here in Khon Kaen province.

Again and again small thunderstorms and some rain (since days).

Strange.

This has a ring of truth to it.

News... not so much.

I think we can say we will see storms many places in Summer.

ARRRH, there be a storm a coming, felt it in my big toe last night.

which summer ?

So, is it arriving by road or train? Clearly, not by air or it would have to pass over a few other provinces first.

Just twigged. Probably referring to Surin in Pattaya.....

Or maybe to the Surin Island(s?) in the Andaman Sea???

Maybe too early to mock.

There have been a few storms in the area already.

I have heard that there is currently a huge storm in Kalasin. Not too far from Surin.

I hear roofs coming off and windows being blown out.

It say's North Eastern Province, its us alright, God help the tin roofers.

The weather has been somewhat strange the past couple of weeks, thundershowers in February though not unknown are unusual. Wonder if we're going to get early rains this year, be nice if Songkran was dampened down a bit like it was a couple of years ago.

A tropical storm is forecast to arrive in summer? rolleyes.gif I think it's going to get dark tonight too.

it's here now! ohmy.png

Just poked my head outside. A few clouds but no wind or rain. Can see a few stars.
